Great sparring footage. This was in 2011 and you can already see how special Bud is even back then. He even dropped Bradley as well.

That sneaky left hand to the body was already there from Bud! Bradley was nowhere without that up-jab. I liked that a lot, doesn't really mean anything to me but very cool.

Can't stand Tim Bradley. Built like a brick sh house but hit like a girl. Big ugly dome. Ducked Khan. Alexander fight sucked. Robbed Pacquiao. Ew.

He was lucky he was in a weak era at light welter were he could unify with mediocre fighters like Alexander. And that 'win' over Pacquaio was a stain on the sport.

    Weakest HOF'er I'd say.

The best part of Bradley's career was when that Asian Soviet almost beat him to death in the ring, super entertaining fight.
That matchup was one of the best examples of 'big muscles don't make you a puncher'.
Provodnikov looks like a clerk about to check your papers on the Mongolian border. But he really slings them.

Loved that he posted this video.

I see a portion of this sparring some years back from a peer who was in attendance.

The cool thing about this is Crawford showed up solo. No coaches. Sparred 2 separate days. He made adjustments round to round on his own IQ within the fight. Crawford obviously was a 35'er then with just a few fights. He was in there with a guy who was getting p4p recognition, 2x world champion and eventually a hall of famer. Bradley told the world and has been a consistent cheerleader for Crawford's ability and potential ever since. Told the powers that be at Top Rank to give him a look and that's what started Crawford on his path toward gaining his first world title.

When I point out that Crawford literally EARN everything he got, this is the stuff I'm referring to. He didn't come into his pro career on a red carpet. Beating up on a world champion to prove that he isn't just some sparring partner, to eventually becoming the most decorated fighter of his era and almost in the history of the sport. Many still knock his career and/or value due to him not having the sexiest names on his resume, but he has ALWAYS gunned for the best in the division he was competing in. Guys like Adrien Broner & Danny Garcia literally jumped out of the division to avoid crossing paths with Crawford, but it was always Crawford who got the ridicule and claims of avoiding top talent. Then when he gets in the ring with the guy who is supposed to have the X Factor to expose him, Crawford dominates and makes it look like.....a sparring match......Then he has to deal with many discrediting him.

I was never a big fan of Tim Bradley, especially when he was gifted the win over Manny, but I respected his heart and his ability to be honest regarding his exchange on this day in the sparring session.

With all due respect, there's a reason Roach SWERVED the Crawford fight after Bud beat Postol. I wouldve favored Bud, but there's a reason Freddie had other plans for Manny...and Roach himself said so.

And there's a reason Al and ALL OF PBC blocked Crawford out. They all knew what it was and they realized once ANY of them stepped the show would be over. They froze him out on purpose.

Glad Bud got his flowers anyway and the last laugh.

Crawford was definitely avoided, but not by Danny G. Garcia had two close fights with Crawford as an amateur; he arguably won both of them. Crawford would've beaten him in the pros, but Garcia wasn't avoiding him, and he wasn't scared to fight him. Broner and his team were though, but Broner was already a declining force and would've been put in an ambulance by Crawford, most likely.

Exactly. It's crazy because while keeping him from getting the fight, they dangled it over his head to get him to resign to Top Rank. My opinion is Bob Arum was working with Al Haymon to keep those fights from happening. Fury v Wilder was a Top Rank/PBC card. And the fight happened 3x in 4 years. How is it that Crawford couldn't get a fight with the PBC guys while they had titles. He fought Felix Diaz with zero problem who was on a small contract with PBC at the time. Same for Molina. And by the time he fought Amir Khan, his manage was working with PBC as well, but neither of those guys had titles.

Then look at the fact that Keith Thurman talked down the Crawford fight passionately. Claimed Crawford wasn't a real welterweight and that he needed to fight Khan & Brook (which he did eventually). Crawford was scheduled and eventually stopped Kavaliauskas. Thurman was vocal about how laughable the matchup was (regardless of the fact that was Crawford's mandatory for the WBO). Thuman goes and loses to Manny......the following week, Thurman is on social media telling Crawford to send the contract.

Shawn Porter wasn't interested in even mentioning Crawford's name until he found out he wasn't getting an immediate rematch with Spence after losing his title. And even with that was in no rush to make the fight as he turned down a $2.5M offer while being the mandatory for Crawford. Eventually the WBO mandated the fight and we saw what happened.

We can go on and on about the hoops Crawford had to jump through for the Spence fight only for it to finally happen 5 years later and his distractors do everything they can to discredit the victory/dominance that occurred.

Needless to mention the fact that the "young warriors" (Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz) that people claimed Crawford wanted no parts of, both turned down official offers to fight Crawford for the WBO. Ortiz was his mandatory for almost 2 years and would exercise his mandatory. Ennis camp claimed they were being loyal to Showtime....ironically at the time Crawford was a free agent and his very next fight, bs Spence was on.......Showtime.....lol.

Crawford was in talks about facing Danny Garcia after the Dulorme fight in which Crawford had the WBO and Danny had the WBC/WBA & Ring belts. They possibilities were discussed before Danny started negotiations with Peterson. Crawford was getting his name out there after 3 good wins over Burns, Gamboa, & Beltran winning him the WBO and Ring belts at 135lbs. Moving up he told Top Rank he wanted the best at the division. At the time that was Danny. Broner was a high profile option as well but after Crawford did what he did to John Molina Jr. a year after Broner went 12 rounds with him, Broner was not interested one bit in a Crawford fight..

Danny jumped up to 147 to face Pauli. Crawford went on to become undisputed. When moved up to 147lbs he said he wanted all the champions, first gunning for Keith Thurman & Spence, but he also wanted the winner of Danny and Porter. Danny lost. While Crawford couldn't get the other fights along with Manny, Danny's camp was officially offered $3.5M to fight Crawford. Angel Garcia confirmed it and said they turned it down saying it was too low even though that was their highest guaranteed purse to date, but they never sent a counter offer. If you want the fight, why wouldn't you send a counter suggesting what it would take to make the fight. They just walked away from it. Only for years later to claim, they "would love to get the Crawford fight".......

Sounds like Danny avoided a match up to me.
