4 unbeaten HOFers, along with a future HOFer. Who would you say is the best out of the 5 listed? Decided to exclude Mayweather since he's clearly the best out of the lot.

Terence Crawford (3x undisputed, 5 weight world champ)
Joe Calzaghe (2 weight world champ, unified champ, 20 title defenses)
Andre Ward (2 weight world champ, 2x unified champ)
Rocky Marciano (HW world champ, undisputed, 6 title defenses, defeated 4 HOFers)
Ricardo Lopez (2 weight world champ, unified champ, 21 title defenses)

Doesn't get the hype that the others do due to the weight classes he fought at but Ricardo Lopez for me. Rocky Marciano is obviously a 'mythical ' type figure in boxing way ahead of the others mentioned in terms of historical significance.

I’ll add him to this thread if he actually retires unbeaten. Give it until next year if that really happens.

Four of the five are great fighters and I cannot separate them.

The exception is Andre Ward, who was not really as good as the others. He always had home advantage and had dishonest officials to help him. He should have lost to Kessler by DQ for multiple deliberate head butts, to Kovalev in the first fight by UD, and to Kovalev in their second fight by DQ for repeated low blows.

Personally I still think Marciano has the best case of being second to Mayweather when taking into account of his wins over Joe Louis, Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore. But I can also understand people having Crawford rated higher than Marciano as well.

Ward has the best resume of them all.

The other four are great fighters who can't be denied sure you can nitpick resumes, politics etc but they all achieved everything fairly within the boxing ring. SOB was a dirty cheat who fouled constantly, refused to fight without his handpicked ref and judges in his own backyard. Most of his best wins have asterisks next to them due the aforementioned fouling and shady reffing/judging.

You gotta be kidding me. He has the worst resume of all of them.

    • He has the least amount of fights to start.
    • Least amount of title fights.
    • 2nd least in title defenses (okay, he has 1 more title defense than Marciano, but it was a lot harder to get title shots in that era. Especially fighting for the Heavyweight Champion of the world).
    • What did he do at SMW that Calzaghe didn't do better? Calzaghe has way more defenses and beat better up and coming fighters (e.g. Lacy & Kessler before they ever lost). He also beat RJJ & Hopkins (even when Hopkins went on to be the oldest fighter to win a belt in history).
