Barry jones in England is terrible. far worse then max. I actually like max Kellerman hes not that bad.. most people just annoyed that his rich dad that helped him get a job .. he does a decent job. the sucking up he did to andre ward was abit much though.
Max Kellerman is the very worst. Chris Mannix, Andre Ward and Mike Coppinger are awful too, but not quite as bad as Kellerman.
Kellerman and Mannix are the first that come to mind they are both horrendous. In Australia we have a pundit named Peter Badel he is not a commentator but he is on the panel for No Limit shows and he could seriously be the worst I have seen.
I actually love Tim Bradley from what I hear and think hes a genuine guy, be he gets too excited and fan boy-like for me during fights. Chris Algieri is easily my favorite, would love to hear him on more major broadcasts.
I don't like Mannix and Kriegal but I like Mannix's podcast and Kriegal's books Mauro is the worst and my least favorite, Tessitore can be really annoying with his over dramatized yelling where you can tell he is hamming it up. I liked Tim Bradley until he kept doing a cheap imitation of Teddy Atlas I actually did not mind Andre Ward (controversial on here). I tend to like most fighters even when I disagree with them. Lennox would be gaf after gaf but I thought he was great when calling a heavyweight fight. Lampley had the voice and the energy but when he was biased he would call **** that wasn't happening I liked Merchant until he lost his fastball I always liked the lesser guys you see on the replay broadcasts like Colonel Bob Sheridan and Dave Bontempo and I also like some of the other lesser used guys like Bob Papa who I think in general is a solid sports commentator
For nany years I'm watching almost all boxing with my girlfriend and we're the best commentators. Side effect: i basically don't hear much from the tv commentators. Which is a blessing when I look at most of their scorecards and hear what they have to say about the a-side and b-side. In general i tend to think that they are not so much incompetent as corrupt but maybe they favor the a-side out of incompetence and blind faith, too. The canelo effect basically. But let's be honest they probably often have to be in order to keep their otherwise dream jobs. Paulie was sacked after speaking out to much i think and we have the same in Germany with graciano rocchigiani who has to be praised for calling out bs decisions and corruption but was so loved by the audience that he was kept fir quite a while before he had to go. He had lots of reason to complain.
Not sure if hes the worst, but I hate Mauro Ranallo. Like, I really, really, really hate him. I can tolerate other commentators, but not him.
Todd: "Lets go to Chris Mannix for our unofficial scorecard" Chris: "Ive got it 10 rounds to 1 in favour of the guy whos been completely battered and outclassed" Todd Grisham can get these hands and Chris Mannix can get these hands. I dont like you Sergio Mora but im not stupid, i cant give you these hands but i would for sure smack you if you werent looking and then blame it on Mannix so he gets double the beatings. The 3 musketeers of absolute dogwaffle commentary.
My favorite fights are where for 8 rounds Mora and co will paint a picture of how the A side is dominating and fully in control, but then in the 10th round they all seemingly agree that the fight could go either way. If you listened to them on the radio, you would have no idea wtf is going on.
