I still want to see it. I didn't watch the spectacle tonight because I thoroughly expected Joshua to treat it like a sparring session and get some rounds in--as big fighters often do coming back from a loss or layoff against a guy who is not a threat. If Joshua is getting paid tens of millions to waltz around a bit, more power to him. I understand it was a very ugly fight that left a bad taste in a lot or mouths, but so was Fury-Ngannou, Ali-Inoki, etc. We have seen this kind of junk before. I still think there is some value in more-or-less clarifying who was the best heavy between Klitschko and Usyk. That is all. What say you?
its a intresting fight that at the very least it would shut up a crowd of fanboys on the side that loses.
True but Jake actually landed a few jabs on AJ. Fury's jab is just a little better. AJ's semi-victory may have made the fight more interesting. As bad physically as Fury may show up looking, it'll still be seen as a 60/40 or 50/50.
Yes, even if thwy are past their best it would close off their rivalry once and for all and I'd turn up to watch it. Truth be told, boxing ain't as exciting as it used to be anymore, at least for me. Most of the boxers that I liked are gone, and the others will follow suit sooner than later. I have no clue what's happening below 160 in most weight class. 160 and 168 are barren. At 175 Bivol and Beterbiev haven't fought since their fight in February, almost a year ago. One of them should be fighting Benavidez. At Cruiser I only really know Opetaia.
As always, its a certain side not giving us the fight. Its Chisora 4 or nothing for Fury at this point.
The Paul fight will sadly just give Fury more excuse ammo. "He needed 6 rounds to take out a youtuber! the dosser is not worth my time."
If it wasn’t for that potential broken jaw I could see Fury demanding a fight with Paul in a few months to reverse the Ngannou debacle. “Me pumped up action man reality tv dosser brother done you, the body builder needed six rounds to land anything, I’ll land the kitchen sink and the bathtub and the roof in a single round you daft ****. They’re gonna need ten plumbers to fix you up when I’ve finished with you and your wwe brother Logan I’ll fight for free between punches”.
Story of his career, I think he has more wins on paper than he does in the ring at this point. A fighter loses that Fury hasnt fought before and its a instant win for Fury. "Look at the guy he just lost to imagine what Fury would do to him"
Yeah but nothing will come close to how much I wanted to see Joshua vs Wilder in 2017. Huge shame that didn't happen.
On God, its been a entire night on this forum of constant references where David Price is somehow involved and i bloody love it. Bellew and Price were the victims of verbal assault that night. What a roast.
I sometimes watch those two Thompson fights, the way Price just seemed to literally deflate from all the nervous energy in the rematch always gets me, he was a classic glass cannon, it’s a shame we never saw him and Fury fight.
I’d watch it if it gets made but it’s not particularly interesting anymore. Fury just outboxes AJ like he always would’ve done There’s a number of fights in the HW division that Fury would face a real risk of losing in, and Anthony Joshua is not one of those
The only way it'd be interesting now, is if Fury announces he ballooned back up to 400 lbs and is working his way back down. We'd have another Wilder-Fury 1 feel to it potentially.
