All that said here is my view and I agree with others it was farcical. Firstly I concur with previous statements AJ is clearly on the decline, he was always a limited fighter in certain regards but what he was good at he was typically world class at, namely his athleticism and his straight right. Now it looks like they have gone to.

As for the fight itself the first four rounds was essentially Paul at times literally (and I do mean literally) running around the ring then diving at Joshua's feet. It was frankly embarrassing to watch at times however itbwas clear at some point Paul would tire and it would be over. If i am to give Paul any credit it is he did show some competent defence when Joshua had closed him down in first 4 rounds, however i still think Joshua 5 years ago tears through it.

As much as Jake Paul may be distasteful for some it shows what those of us whom actually have boxed or understand it have known which is if you dedicate yourself and train regularly you can improve. Which is why I truly believe Paul would probably be above area level now if he waa a UK fighter.

As for whats next mugging for camera with a broken jaw is one thing but wanting to actually fight again is another. I expect Paul will fight again but return to youtubers, faded ex champions etc. As for AJ its pretty clear thats its cashout vs Fury or retirement.

 

I actually thought Jake did OK in there. He stayed out of range early and didn’t let Joshua get set, which was the right approach. He sat down every time AJ leaned on him, and he even pinged him a couple of times when AJ got sloppy.

Once the tank started emptying in the fifth you could see it, and he rolled his ankle, but he still never quit. He took a big shot at the end that probably broke his jaw and stayed on his feet. Scripted or not, he had a go.

Fair play to him, his technique and ring awareness are miles ahead of someone like Bosh Jnr. He took his shot, didn’t end up on his back, and honestly it was probably the best ending for everyone involved.

AJ was never as great as British fans thought he was. And now, at 36, he's really nothing special. The fact he couldn't catch a smaller younger guy in a 22-foot ring for a few rounds shouldn't suprise anyone.

 

Everyone expected it to be over earlier. AJ clearly has declined, of course he can punch hard still but shouldn't of gone into the 6th, did he carry him first couple of rounds, maybe? Does that really matter? Personally not really beating Paul for AJ does nothing for him bar taking an easy fight for huge money.

Paul simply did everything he could to spoil, the constant dropping to his knees was laughable. Even after the event, he had no business being in the ring with Joshua.

If I'm Frank Warren I'm BEGGING Hearn and Joshua to fight Wardley next for the WBO as Fabio would absolutely brutalise him and gain celebrity in the process which he is right now lacking.

 

Jake Paul would have went the distance if his gas tank was better, he can take a shot too so fair play to him there. He is improving and would smash Tommy Fury if they rematched. Glad AJ got the KO, JP probably walks away with his head held high and secures more paydays.

Yeah, I agree. Jake’s clearly improving and has come a long way from the guy who boxed Deji back in 2018. You can see the difference in his composure and basic skills now. And honestly, like you, I think he probably would smash Tommy in a rematch. Fury arguably hasn’t improved at all since they fought, still looks like he’s doing the same drills and staying in that comfort zone, while Jake’s actually pushed himself and stepped up levels.

Joshua has also found his current level now. It should be Fury next, and I mean any of them, Tyson, Tommy or even John, and then walk away.

Wow you lot watched this!? I had to be up for work at 4:30 and still didn’t bother. The fact you good folk even bother with this, especially at that time of day shows how bad the sport is. The fact he didn’t ’render him unconscious’ from a highlight reel punch is pathetic and frustrating.

 

I wake up early every day too. The fight started about 4.30, it was no bother to watch it. Yes, boxing is in a pretty bad state.
The fight went like you'd expect an overmatched, undersized journeyman to do against a hard-punching, plodding heavyweight robot bodybuilder bum.

 

Glad that's over. Hopefully they make Joshua Vs Fury now. People complain but I think it's the only fight left for either man and we all know everyone on here would watch it.
