The part I responded to was that he didn't live up to the mythical version on this board, which no one really does.

And I think that unfortunately overshadows that prime AJ was a good fighter and usually good entertainment to watch. Of course, Fury was also a good fighter in his prime and Loma arguably a great one.

Fury always frustrated me more, though, with all his talk and excuses for not taking the right fights. I always felt that AJ wanted to make them, all the way up to the Dubois defeat, and he always came in in shape. So I haven't anything bad to say about him. He didn't turn out to be as good as many hoped, but that will happen. He did the most of what he had. All you can ask for.

So you admit that AJ did actually try to hit Jake in round 1.

Do you think then, he just for some reason believed that if that shot wasnt blocked by Jake, that shot wouldnt have ended the fight, or began the end?

So you think he threw a good right hand at jakes face, but he knew jake could take it?

And you think Jake grabbing AJs legs for dear life, flopping around the ring for two rounds, is a better moral victory then had he came out banging with AJ in a war and goes out on his shield?

There is no way he thinks that was a better look for his brand and netflix then a kill or be killed shootout.

In reality, he ran and flopped practically all fight while trying to lure AJ into big rights a couple times... AJ knew the KO would come to him so took his time and he was right.

Had Jake stood his ground for more then 15 seconds the entire fight, AJ would have broken his jaw sooner and none of this would even be a thing.

Anyone expecting even that from anyone on jake pauls level has no idea of boxing. Paul surviving the first round should make you rich if you knew it beforehand and the only reason the odds didn't reflect this is that everyone suspected that it might be scripted.

How is paul going 6 rounds with one of the dominant champions in heavyweight who is still active and should be ranked around the top 10 not a crazy achievement?

Do i have to add 'if it was real'?

The whole fight was AI CGI.
Jake Paul doesn't exist. He's an animation, Disney creation, now acquired by Netflix for sports events only.

Anthony Joshua watched the fight on Netflix at his London home. He was paid $100 MILLION by Netflix to licence his likeness for this one event. Currently in talks with PornHub for a similar deal, but the gay-for-pay clause needs thrashing out (no pun intended).

Just watched it for the second time, I do genuinely think AJ could of got rid of him early had he fought more aggressively, he blatantly had him in a corner and would back off to allow him to escape. I think he chose to play with him, he did say before the fight that he was going to take his soul and beat him up round after round, that I suppose was the hint that he wasnt going to try blast him out.

No. I think he felt that after the refs words in rd 4. That he was going the route of creating memes with his arms around Joshua's knees. He was starting to tire too, but he had more intent in rd 5 and once he started to exchange it was only going to go one way.

Have you ever sparred anyone? Do you understand you can try to hit someone and hit them, without causing serious injury?

If AJ wanted to end the fight in the first 30 seconds, he could have. Jake Paul is not on his level. He could never lure AJ into anything. You give him way too much credit. He is just an internet prankster. AJ was a world champion when Paul decided to troll with boxing.

It was a good performance from Jake Paul, considering his level, yes.

But Paul Butlin, Hrrvoje Kisicek, Dorian Darch, Konstantin Airich all lasted past the first round with a faster, more dynamic AJ, and I doubt they even had a 'training camp' never mind a proper one like Jake Paul has ......

There was no script. It was just a mismatch between two boxers with massive gulf in size and skill. Jake Paul is probably better than some people think, yes. But it doesn't mean much.

    This was not Leonard-Hearns.
AJ could have hit him almost at will, pushed him back when they were close which was often enough, if he wasn’t already off balance and smacked him back to whatever probably Raccoon touching weirdo hick trailer park he calls home.

Which other AJ fights do you say this about?
He's had 33 pro fights, which ones could he have finished in 30 seconds, but chose not to? Which ones could he have finished earlier than he did, but chose not to? .... and how many of those were rigged/scripted?

    AJ "could have" ...

....he could have ducked that looping comical telegraphed right hand from Dubois, that the whole ****ing world saw coming from the safe side of the ring ropes, but he just stood there and was dropped like a sack of potatoes .... weird that, isn't it.

Weird that he allowed Dubois to hit him with a haymaker like that.
    Must have been rigged.

A fighter of AJs level and size does not throw with that form and speed on someone Jakes size and level, and then expect that shot to do nothing if lands flush. When you pull punches theres not your but, back and body in it while turning into it, and follow through like that shot had. Its obvious that shot was meant to hurt Jake.

I didnt say he could lure AJ, I said he was trying, as it was his only perceived chance.

Hes not just an internet prankster. Youre not giving him enough credit. Hes been training boxing intensely non stop now for 7 years or more and has like 15 fight camps or something like that, and he obviously has some decent power for an average person.

Obviously thats nothing to a top boxer, and... he was treated like nothing. AJ literally geared 1 his way through most of the fight until he ended it.

That he didnt go out and go berserk on Jake doesnt mean the fight was rigged. The shots AJ did throw and barely didnt land suggest AJ was content to take his time to let the KO come to him.

Barely ever do fightets go out and stop overmatched opponents 'when they could'.

Dubois is a different fight and fighter. Joshua carried Paul big time
