6'6 former unified heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medallist Joshua being excused by mongs online for going 6 rounds with a novice Tommy Fury victim and guy half his size is the oddest thing.

''He's not engaging'' Well, walk him down with zero fear of his light heavyweight power, bully him in the clinches, roughhouse him, push him back, and chin him in 1-2 rounds as this is a guy who could not put a proper dent in Tommy Fury or Chavez Jr.

Ah yes, the secret "carry me for 5 rounds, while the commentators slate my performance, then break my jaw in the 6th" clause
........ for an extra $100 million under the table.
    Of course.

    Hmm
Surely there are a few scenarios where a mismatch occurs and this isn’t a typical one, it’s obviously a BS cash grab fight.
It’s not a fight where you have a good prospect fighting a journeyman which is your typical overmatched fighter scenario and the only scenario really where it’s acceptable for the better fighter to get some rounds and not go hell for leather.

Yeah, and it's really just the same AJ trajectory we've seen the past 6 or 7 years, with a few exceptions, and people are acting like it's something weird going on ....
...... the plodding, gun-shy, over-cautious, can't pull the trigger, mentally shot version of AJ we saw forming in other fights, just reaching new heights at age 36, after 15 months off, following his most mentally-damaging loss of his career.
People actually don't want to believe what's obvious.

AJ might be the most "mentally shot" fighter in boxing history.

Do you think Joshua’s is actually pleased with this performance or finds it satisfactory? Is he really so shot that he legitimately needed this fight against Jake Paul who looked more like Nick Ball next to him to get back some confidence? Is he sat thinking yeah I did alright there, couldn’t have beaten him any quicker

Pretty much seeing himself humbled against former heavyweight champion of the world and getting his jaw broken in the process.

Duke is usually a good analyst, but I got disappointed in him here saying he's happy Jake got a broken jaw and stuff.

He's also contradicting himself saying AJ was sharp, but at the same acknowledging (and commending) AJ for illegally hitting Jake multiple times in kidney area in a clinch. That proves he was frustrated because he couldn't get to Paul.

Jake won't die from a broken jaw. Actually bones are one of the things that heal the best in human body

I came away impressed with Paul. He had a clear game plan to move and evade while looking to set up counters. He did well to avoid getting hit clean and landed a few shots but just doesn't have the punching power or gas tank to make the strategy pay off. He did well to survive but if the ref enforced clinching the fight is ended in the 3rd round.

Still I can't criticize Paul who got up multiple times while completely exhausted and hurt. Most armchair, keyboard warriors would never have made it that long

Also, Paul got his jaw broken, yet he still got up in the 6th round. His career has been an utter joke to this point, however, I cant take this away from him. He was tired, beaten up, hurt, had his jaw broken... and he still tried to beat the count.

If he kept his mouth closed like he’s supposed to it probably wouldn’t have broke

I have never, ever seen a fatigued boxer keep their mouth closed. It always tickles me when commentators keep talking about boxers breathing through their mouths. Clearly none of them know how impossible it is to actually box for several rounds when breathing through only the nose.

The only real time a fatigued boxer can keep their mouth closed is when they are embracing themselves for a punch, or throwing a punch. Paul obviously showed his lack of experience in this regard.

Seems like it's broken his teeth are a complete mess and he's going to need surgery. If it was fixed doesn't make much sense cause Paul got pretty messed up.
