Usyk probably wins 6-7 times out of 10. But a prime Riddick Bowe from that fight was a different beast and focused. He definitely has a chance against Usyka if he's in that kind of form. But otherwise Usyk is just too disciplined, fit and skilled, scoring plenty more especially in the later rounds.

    Bowe had an awful defence.

The significantly smaller Holyfield and Hide were able to light him up and cause him brain damage.

Usyk would win a comfortable UD, too intelligent, elusive and fast.

Ah the good old referee exuses. If you had working eyes you could tell the fights were not easy just by watching them without the judges decision. The AJ rematch was close. Referencing Tubbs and Hyde is like me saying Usyk struggled against an old journeyman Chisora.

Fanboys like you acting like Usyk is a dominant HW champ like Tyson or something is laughable. He ain't.

Bowe had a lot of defensive gaps which Usyk would be exposing all night long. Usyk on points.

Usyk turns him all night. And Riddick throws and misses a ton against a southpaw boxer like this. And if you subtract an effective offense from from Bowe, his defense is not going to balance things out.

The AJ rematch was very close but only up to the 9th round. Usyk let AJ gas himself out and lit him up in the 10th, 11th and 12th. First Tyson fight was close up to the 7th round. Usyk won every round after that almost stopping Fury. The rematch wasn't even close.

Usyk has never faced a style/ opponent that he couldn't adapt to. For that reason, it's hard to pick against Usyk.

I think why Bowe is a bigger threat than someone like Joshua is the mentality.

Bowe isn't going to try and have a tactical fight with Usyk he's going to try and fight him and his workrate is considerably better aswell.

Bowe was able to throw more punches than Holyfield throwing close to 800 punches. So Bowe unlike these other Super Heavyweights isn't going to fade in the 2nd half of the fight which makes him more dangerous.

On the flipside Bowe did seem to have issue when fighters fought him on the outside and he didn't look quite as good in that respect.

    I think unlike Holyfield....

Usyk wouldn't stand and brawl with Bowe he would be moving giving Bowe angles and it would be hard for Bowe stylistically.

I'm going with Usyk by close decision but Bowe's superior workrate to Fury and Joshua and the mentality makes him a bit more of a threat IMO.

Usyk would take him to slick school. We've never seen Bowe in with anyone like Usyk, we know for a fact what Usyk brings to the table causes these giants fits and it would be no different vs Bowe. It might be closer if we pit the past prime Usyk vs a prime Bowe which is exactly what we always see happening in these hypothetical match ups with certain fighters and the unbeatable gods and North American gods from past eras who are always afforded excuses for their losses or struggles against lower level opponents and deemed past prime even in their 20s and early 30s whilst this same privilege is never afforded for said certain fighters who are smack bang in the midst of their prime even in their late 30s. But Usyk is simply too fast, too slick, too clever, too elusive, and too tough when Bowe does land with something and even a well past prime 38 year old version of Usyk would still have enough to beat him. There are too many holes in Bowe's defence for Usyk not to be able to exploit and punish him for and he would do so easily

Usyk was already 4 months shy of turning 35 when he won his first HW belts, 37 when he unified vs Belly, and a month away from turning 38 for the rematch. We never even saw a prime Usyk at HW other than the WSB and he was very noticeably faster, more agile, sharper, more accurate, with faster reflexes and reaction times back in his prime. Bowe is not beating a prime Usyk on points or knocking him out.

Yeah I know and I wasn't alluding to you. But this is what always happens in these hypothetical match ups I'm talking about though. People will act like said certain fighters are smack bang in the midst of their prime in their late 30s if not older and never afford them the same privileges they do so readily as the greats from past eras who, as said, are deemed shot or past their prime in their 20s and early 30s

And Bowe from Holyfield I was a 25 y/o Bowe and Usyk from Belly I was a 37 y/o Usyk

The Herbie Hide fight is a guilty pleasure of mine and I watch it often

But Bowe was at no point in real trouble
