Joshua is far ahead of Willard in terms of skill and power...

 

That could be debated.

I briefly followed Joshua as an amateur, and didn't think very much of him.

Then when he turned professional, I was thinking "damn this guy hits as hard as a young Foreman."

I think that Willard's power was up there for a superheavyweight, he just lacked killer instinct, and was content to lazily beat his smaller opponents on points.

The fact that he killed an opponent obviously didn't help.

I wouldn't say that he was without skill as such, since he basically used the same style as Vitally Klitschko.

The finishing punch on Paul was actually meh, very telegraphed and looked like it connected with the last two knuckles instead of the first two, it broke his jaw because he had his mouth hanging open

Dempsey has to walk though a blitzkrieg of fist leather to try land a punch. . The moment he walks into an AJ right hand its lights out.
AJ can take a hit from Jack. Jack is too small to take a hit from AJ.
This is a mismatch based on reality , physics , biology.

 

Your bar must be pretty high. Didn't he win a silver at the worlds, an Olympic gold, and 2 ABA titles within 5 years of walking into a boxing gym?
