I don't mind Usyk-Wilder, but truth be told, this fight makes more sense. And it would be a hell of a fight, that I see Gassiev winning due to his two-fisted power.

Yeah good fight. Lean towards Gassiev as his power at the very least is still there for him in fights. Not sure this Wilder would have even beaten Pulev tbh.

Gassiev has a good chin, but Wilder probably still has his power and Gassiev isn't hard to hit.

    Interesting matchup.

Gassiev does to Wilder what he did to Pulev. Walks him down behind a tight high guard, gets his timing down, then puts his lights out with a left hook. If Wilder is looking at this as some easy winnable fight, it highlights just how delusional he's become. He needs to gun for someone like Frank Sanchez or Jared Anderson instead.

This fight is fine. A guy with a stagnant career up against a guy who is shot and at the tail end of his career. I'm not paying PPV for it, but throw it up on DAZN and I'll tune in.

    This.

Even this older Gassiev sleeps what's left of Deontay. Wilder has nearly zero punch resistance left.

If Wilder is genuinely on the cusp of an Usyk payday, then he would be mad to fight Gassiev in the meantime, who has an excellent chance of laying him out. If he wants an easy tuneup fight then Dillian Whyte is probably his best bet, as he is somehow even more shot than Wilder.

The Usyk payday is only happening if Turki is interested. Otherwise it's a mediocre money fight for both. And Wilder ain't taking a mediocre money fight against a guy who he knows damn well is going to box his face off.

Wilder was a one trick pony who has forgotten his trick.

I struggle to envision Wilder beating Jonny Fisher tbh.

Seems a dangerous 'tune up ' for Wilder.

fact is pre Fury Wilder fought no elite heavyweight bar Ortiz of which he lost every round but go the KO.. keep in mind Ortiz was early 40's... he just was never that good, he got looked after, manufactured champion.

Wilder and tune up fights don't go well.

I'd back a prime Wilder over a HW Gassiev but Wilder is shot to bits.

I dont necessarily disagree. The point I'm making is that he doesn't even have the punches chance he used to have because he doesn't seem to be able to pull the trigger anymore.

Wilder was never good, only good at avoiding the best HWs for years. Finally fought 3 quality HWs and lost to Fury, Parker and Zhang.

The fact that Wilders best wins were likes Ortiz, Stiverne, Washington, Helenius and Spzilka just show how much a fraud he was.

Gassiev beat Wilder now or any point in Wilders overrated career.

Wilder stinks way too dangerous a bout with a shot and payday on the line vs Usyk.
