Wardley has the athleticism and the stamina to train and add some lateral movement, bouncing and more feints to his toolshed. Wardley showed more pivots against Parker than vs Huni and looks to have improved, but this could be because Huni is better than Parker. Wardley sets traps like right hands behind the jab and pull counters but imagine if he could navigate the ring jabbing and setting up shots then fight off the ropes giving his opponents different looks.
I’m a wardley fan and I hope he does well-I like his style,he’s British and his story is good too but let’s be realistic he was beaten for every second of every round by huni before “that” punch, he was completely out of ideas-fair play he pulled it off but that won’t happen everytime, it cannot be the game plan I imagine he’ll get some big fights now and he’ll be around for a bit, in good fights probably slowly improving but can’t see a long reign as champ or staying unbeaten (which isn’t an issue btw)
Wardley will never get any credit no matter what he does for some reason hes just not trendy at the same time other boxers especially some of who hes beat have been over rated to the hilt beyond belief
He's a good but limited fighter. If he never does another big thing, it will have been a good career already. But he'll be in some more good fights.
He showed great resilience against Parker. He absorbed so many big punches like a sponge, and just kept going. The problem for fighters like him, though, is their "fan friendly" style of fighting, all offense no defense works until their chin finally cracks, and then they start losing fight after fight. Wardley came late to boxing so lacks the early experience that make some great fighters. He has power and a granite chin, but if he can move his head more, take less damage than he currently does, then it might help him with his career. Coming this late to boxing and performing this well is amazing, but he can benefit from fixing a few important attributes.
