Joshua should target Wardleys WBO title to set up a Fury fight and unify with Usyk one last time

im trying to think of wtf to do if you’re Wardley’s team. Your guy loses every fight until he doesn’t, and he sort of accidentally fell his way into a piece of the title. The goal is an Usyk fight for the massive payday.

so, Dubois would be an insane fight for him to take. Dubois hits just as hard and is far, far more technically sound. Same applies to AJ, really. The big name who would make the most sense is Wilder, but Usyk is chasing that one because he’s feeling lazy.

My singular goal if I’m Team Wardley is get him through a couple of easy defenses that won’t get him stripped, then chase Usyk.

Wardley want to come see the sights in, uh, Ohio? How about Jared Anderson? Want to try some real tacos in California? Andy Ruiz.

    just thinking.

Unless Joshua had made massive changes to his mindset recently he would revert straight back to type and lose the fight before even entering the ring against Wardley !

No chance Joshua would take that fight, he’s waiting it out for Usyk to retire after wilder, and he will be well placed to fight for a vacant belt, or the fury fight which i don’t believe will happen anymore, can’t sell me magic beans more than once.

I feel this is the cycle of AJ

    Lose against a good fighter

Enter his “rebuild” and beat some top 15 or fringe contenders

Gain confidence back but then lose again against the true elite of the division.

Zero chance that Eddie throws this fragile, diminishing version of AJ with arguably the fastest and hardest hitting HW that is currently in the top 10. He's just taken six rounds to take out a YouTuber, and Wardley would come into the fight with zero fear. I think he'd take him out in about three rounds.

Why do we have to watch the same boxers over and over again? Where are the new challengers?

If AJ believed in himself, it would be 1000% the fight he takes. It makes total sense to pick up a belt

As with others, their ego will not allow them to lose to someone the public perceives as being levels below.

This is the current issue, just keep watching has beens. I’ve been thinking mr turki and fans cause this as they continually want to see the big names fight, which are generally the same names circling about, which mean it’s difficult tfor newer challengers

anything else aside — it’s hard to KO a guy whose only plan is to survive. Wouldn’t have taken Wardley as long, but that’s because he’s got quicker feet and would have been able to chase Jake down.

Yes it is shocking how slow fans are to see the changing of the guard, and keep 'the old guard' in place artificially.
