He ducked Beterbiev trilogy. Thats crazy, aged him out too

Beterbiev has to be one of the most ferocious light heavyweights of all time if he's scaring Bivol in his 40s

 

Not a duck. And he did not "age Beterbiev out", he has a serious injury and surgery, and could not fight this fall.

And don't you understand what a MANDATORY is? It means Bivol has to fight Eifert or lose the title.

 

Unless that surgery changed him dramatically for the worse, Bivol boxes Eifert's head off stopping him late or an easy UD.

 

Bivol already aged him out. They could have fought several years ago.

Usyk and Crawford drops belts, id rather Bivol drop his belt to some bum and give Beterbiev the trilogy, he can always just win it back and stat pad his legacy with 2x undisputed claims

I'm a big Bivol fan but something a bit off. He said he dropped the belt to Benavidez so he could pursue the Beterbiev trilogy, not for surgery, only for that 3rd fight to NEVER HAPPEN.

You need to check the time line. There was zero talk of an injury for months after their second fight. The operation he had was for a nagging injury he had for years, it was elective and in the process he ducked Benavidez and Beterbiev.

Funny how you emphasise the importance of a mandatory after Bivol refused to fight his mandatory when it was Benavidez lol.

 

Was thinking the same thing. He already didnt accept until Beterbiev was 3 months shy of 40 when it should have happened a few fights before. No reason either should have taken some of those fights they did. Now Beterbiev turns 41 in 3 weeks and will not have fought in a year at that age with his recent opponent pulling out. Shameful by Bivol.

 

Mandatories are a waste of time for fighters like Bivol at this point. I’d much rather if Bivol vacated the belt to complete the trilogy with Beterbiev.

 

Eifert has as much chance of winning as I have of having a date with Jennifer Lopez.

 

Yep. Bivol said nothing of injury for months and just decided to have surgery out of the blue and admitted in his own words that it was something that he had been dealing with for a long time. Convenient that he decides to get this(again in his own words) non-essential surgery after "winning" all of the belts. He didn't get surgery before the 1st Beterbiev fight, in-between fights after he lost. He gets it done when it suits him best. Beterbiev went into the first fight fresh off of surgery and still outlasted him lol.. gave him an immediate rematch which he only very narrowly lost and Bivol is back to playing games again depriving Beterbiev his chance of reclaiming the belts back in an important boxing rivalry that's tied 1-1.

 

The IBF sure do like their random mandatories. A guy who hasn't fought for nearly 18 months and only notable win is an old Jean pascal 2 years ago.

Pointless fight.

Beterbiev and Benavidez should fight. Would be pure mayhem. Benavidez’s overwhelming volume and meanness vs Beterbiev’s crushing power.

 

Do we even have an ounce of proof of either side ducking? I dont recall any stories about Beterbiev´s side reaching out to Bivol in order to make a fight. At most what both sides did was talk to the media about a potential fight.

Besides, Bivol had no issues taking the immediate rematch. If he truly feared Beterbiev, whom you yourself view now as being "too old", then I dont see why Bivol would even take the rematch, or why he would be afraid of a third fight.
