Realistically, can Wilder knock out Usyk?

Current Usyk vs prime Wilder would be a mismatch but Wilder now ? He has absolutely no chance. No speed, slower reaction time, even his jab is garbage now.

The odds of Usyk scoring a knockout within the first 15 seconds of Rd 1 is higher than Wilder winning the fight. This is not a joke

 

Usyk can probably get Wilder out of there whenever he wants to at this point. I suspect he'll just outbox and break him down slowly like he did to Dubois in both fights. Wouldn't be surprised if he got him out of there early but it'll probably be around somewhere between 5-7.

 

Man had taken punches off of Joshua, Fury, Chisora, Dubois, Gassiev, Huck, Briedis, Glowacki, Bellew, Joyce in WSB.

He'll be fine with Wilder.

 

I don't think Wilder can land on Usyk that finisher shot. But if somehow he does, yes he can definitely knock Usyk out cold.

 

Bah wilder hardly tries to land that shot anymore. Not that he ever would have succeeded against usyk.
To me he is not a fighter anymore. He only seems to fight for money now.
And that's fine, honestly. Good for him on a Personal level I think.

What's not fine is Usyk picking him as an opponent

 

There is a chance Wilder could knock-out Usyk, but there is over 10 times the chance that Usyk will beat him from pillar to post round after round until he TKOs him.

 

Can? Sure, any heavyweight can knock out another given the right set of (in some cases extraordinarily fluky) circumstances.

Will he? I wouldn't bet a dime, no matter how long the odds.

 

In China, we have a saying from Confucius. "Sometimes, it is the most skilled fighter who takes the biggest punch from the least skilled fighter. For matches earned against the puncher are like getting keys to Julissa Thaler's car. Only you can decide if you want to open the trunk. Otherwise, you just assume a lady got deer meat splattered all over by neighborhood kids with BB guns." It seems wordy and anachronistic when I translate it into English but it's much more natural and pithy in Mandarin.

 

He has a chance, but not a realistic one,

 

If Usyk stands dead still and offers up his chin? That's about the only chance Wilder has - and let's be realistic, it's not happening.

Wilder is the zombie of a myth.

Even in his prime and swinging wildly, he'd have had a very low chance of making one count.

 

Maybe if they both toss a coin and the loser has to hang his chin out, eyes closed, and NO bloody flinching!. All while the coin toss winner tees off on the loser of the coin toss at his leisure.





AND of course in this instance the coin toss winner happens to be Wilder...

He took 7 rounds to knock out a chinny, very, very poor fighter in Tyrone Hernia, and even then it was not a clean knockout.

Prime Wilder, with his fast-twitch fibre muscles and natural aggression, was a sensational puncher. However, he still took 9 rounds to knock out a very mediocre Szpilka and struggled to land due to a bit of decent movement and an alright level of technical ability.

So, basically, even a prime version of Wilder would have had an outside shot. Now he does not even deserve to be in the same ring as Usyk.

Usyk and his team are a bunch of self-entitled and arrogant divas now.

Usyk do what he likes yes?

 

Wilder's right hand is light-years ahead of all of them. Just ask Breazeale, who took a pasting on the chin from Joshua for 7 rounds but was flat-lined by Wilder brutally and very easily in 1 round.

A prime Wilder could have knocked Usyk out if he landed flush...but would he have landed flush? Likely not.

 

If Fury and AJ couldn't hurt Usyk over 48 rounds, and the versions of both Fury and AJ that fought Usyk wipe ANY version of Wilder, then absolutely not.
