Usyk should fight Ruiz after Wilder

Ruiz would probably be decently financially lucrative and a easy fight to be honest for Usyk.

Wardley and Kabayel should do more themselves and fight each other and truly make themselves the challnger - rather than some prospect in Knyba.

 

Ruiz would be outclassed by Usyk, if Joshua won almost all the rounds in the rematch against Ruiz then Usyk would most certainly easily defeat Ruiz...

I don't want to see him fight Ruiz. Wilder is one thing just because he was the WBC champion for years with a lot of defenses and a memorable trilogy with Fury. Usyk should fight his mandatories and any top ranked undefeated opponent. Wilder, Wardley, Kabayel, Okolie & Itauma. Preferably in this order.

I understand why Usyk would do that but that would be terrible for the sport. Look at all the guys in the top 20 in their 30s now imagine no one getting a shot at the lineal title in 2 more years.

Knyba is the sort of opponent Usyk should be fighting. Maybe he turns out to be elite maybe he turns out to be a noone. Hes a 6'7 undefeated 29 year old. This is the sort of person thats supposed to be getting title shots not guys who've won 2 fights in the 6 full years of the 2020s. Kabayels the one doing the job of champion here.

I do have this sneaking suspicion that Usyk plans to wait for Parker to come back and go Wilder, Ruiz, Parker and complete his little set. I really hope I'm wrong.

I think it’s more like he wants to do something t symbolic like fighting a name like wilder and call it quits

 

If Ruiz turns up in top form then I do think it would be a fun fight; Ruiz's handspeed and reflexive counterpunching would be a good foil to Usyk's style. Saying that Usyk's adaptability, speed, output and the overall difference in quality would see Usyk take over and dominate as the fight goes on, but it would be entertaining for the first few rounds at least.

 

Dubois 2x, a shot to pieces Wilder, a 40 stone Ruiz who fights once every 2 years, and gatekeeper Chisora with over a dozen losses, are not names that will hold up on an ATG resume. The only big wins are AJ and Fury, and there's a big asterisk over Fury given that he nearly lost to Ngannou before he fought Usyk.

This resume will be surpassed by Inoue, probably within 18 months of Usyk retiring, as long as he cleans up at 126. The notion that this resume couldn't be surpassed for 100 years, when he's only cleaned out two divisions, one of them a B-rate HW division, is pretty absurd.

 

Who said anything about wanting to fight an american in the usa? Was he fighting any Saudi fighters in Saudi? I said fighting in the historic boxing locations like caesars palace, Las Vegas an Madison square gardens where all the boxing greats have fought

 

I mean, I don't really think Parker lost 100% fair, so I still want to see that.

I am not too interested in Wilder, as I was one of the first and loudest to say he was a fraud, but I do get it the symbolic value and am not real mad about it.

Ruiz would be the one that just seems too much, if this occurs.

 

Makes sense, I think he will fight wilder then fight Ruiz on Mexican Independence Day in September.

 

I think legacy-wise bagging a few names from the next generation (and hoping they go on to achieve big things, cf. Mayweather v Canelo) would probably stand up better than taking on a parade of shot memories from the last generation (a la Calzaghe v Eubank, RJJ, BHop*, etc).

But probably it will just come down to where the money is and what raises his profile best for the post-boxing phase of his life.

Usyk told Ring Magazine he's got 2-3 more fights left, so that probably means he will fight Wilder, Ruiz and Fury.
