None of what you said matters outside of the discussion boards. He's first ballot. Crawford beat the best in the divisions he was campaigning in. Became a 4x LINEAL Champion. It's ironic how someone can get that title 4x in 4 different divisions yet some fans chant he hasn't beaten anyone. And not one of his fights were questionable by anyone who knows the sport. Unanimous and Stoppages all the way down. He is only required to compete against the pool he is in and he dominated. But for some reason, he is claimed to not be great because he didn't beat a player type from a era 2 generations ahead of him. The 2 fights you point out and discredit, he was constantly heckled about not being equipped to even make it a competition. Too Small, Light in the Ass, Suspect Chin, etc.....yet both EJ & Canelo fell short and neither questioned the results. They both were actually more respectable of what they faced in the ring than the goofy followers who create excuses for their fighter to come up short in the manner that they did.. Now call him TBE....I'm not going to claim that, but he definitely deserves more praise for his value to the history of the sport rather than a push back every time someone pays tribute to his great career.
Is it weird?.... Bivol is a natural 175lber.... Canelo moved up and struggled greatly being effective vs a bigger and stronger opponent than what he's use to. Crawford is a former 135lber.....went up 2/3 divisions (20+ lbs) in a year to compete against an undisputed champion at 168lbs....... People praise the uphill climb more than the norm.... I would think that would be common sense.
