Will we see Teofimo Lopez struggle or succeed against Shakur Stevenson?

I vote for struggles but honestly I think we'll see both.

Teofimo may rise to the occasion but if Shakur makes proper adjustments that will be it. Teofimo can't adjust in real time and his brain is a bag of cats.

I think Teo is going to turn up and win on a close points decision, but it'll be close enough for Shakur to cry robbery, and then probably a rematch. I am looking forward to it because it is an A-grade matchup, but I can see it being a drab affair with not much major action. Shakur does not have the power to gain Teo's respect, which will factor in down the stretch.

 

I think he'll do better than many think and put on a good performance but still lose a clear 7-5, 8-4 type decision. Him being inconsistent is true, but what's also true is that he just struggles with southpaw movers. He's had 2 fights and plenty of time to learn how to better combat that style but I still don't think it will be quite enough to beat Shakur.

 

Way lesser fighters than Stevenson I.E Ortiz and Sanzor were able to beat Lopez clearly IMO..... Werent they both southpaws or Ortiz spent a lot of that fight as a southpaw......? Stevenson is that x10000000

 

I wouldn't say clearly, but they are also both good fighters. Shakur would probably struggle with Sandor Martin; he's had his fair share of poor performances. Let's not forget it took him nine rounds to knock out an electrician. Lopez has the much better resume and the much better wins on paper; he's also a more natural 140-pound fighter. Shakur has zero power and will be forced to fight outside his comfort zone. He's quality, but he's not as good as people think. If the best versions of both show up, Lopez wins.

 

Teo gets dominated by slick movers. Betting the house on Stevenson is the sensible thing to do.

I am backing Lopez to win I just think he is too physically strong for Shakur.
Shakur is skilled but I think he is fragile he has been hurt by much smaller and less powerful men than Lopez.
As others have already mentioned Shakur is not capable of hurting Lopez which will be a factor. I think Teo may score an early knock down making Shakur even more hesitant to engage than he usually is.

This. This is just a terrible style match up for Teo. Teo does well against fighters who come forward.
