Yeah, I accounted for that in my post with the "not completely sure how to judge that"

I have not watched much Kabayel's career. The fights I have seen, he rarely got hit. Mahkmudov hits hard but really never connected on him. I know heavyweight is a division filled with big punchers and Zhang has that reputation. However, Zhang was overweight and had been banged up to the body but the one time he landed it dropped Kabayel. I'm not trying to make too big of a deal out of it. It just stands out. I'd say his chin is not a liability, but I am not sure I'd say its iron or proven

I think this is more related to his defense if anything. Smakici hit him with 10+ unanswered blows to the chin and Kabayel was still on his feet. You can’t have success fighting Kabayel’s style without a chin.

First time I've seen this fight, what a dreadful opponent for the European heavyweight title as well, he was absolutely spent by round 3. Looks like Kabayel has suspect whiskers to me.

Kabayel's chin is fine, Smakici is the classic kill or be killed glass cannon, who I actually warned people about before the fight (below). I saw it the day it happened, yet with full confidence I went on to pick Agit to stop Makhmudov, Sanchez and Zhang.

In all fairness, he took about 10 to 15 unanswered shots there, with a few to the back of the head for good measure.

Smakici has a KO 90% and he cracked Kabayel with at least 20 flush shots whilst Kabayel was hurt and Kabayel withstood it.

Watch it in slow motion I counted like 22 or 23 clean shots

I don't want to jinx him because Kynba is a huge guy (6'7'' with a 86'' reach) and he has decent skills, fast hands, and when he sits down on his shots he can crack a bit, but the Smakici fight actually proves Kabayel has a good chin not the reverse IMO

:deal: Precisely! That's actually the reason I picked him to beat those guys, I knew he wouldn't take them as lightly, break them down slowly and pour it on them when he had them hurt, all while being defensively responsible. Which when he is, he can be quick slick. But even if they did catch him, it wouldn't matter... because he walked into a vicious KO punch and then took another 22 or 23 violent clean follow ups without going, frigging Smakici literally worn himself out punching him in the head and that told me he had a chin of ****ing iron.

Yes, it was like 22-23 clean shots in quick succession and that's me not counting the shots which missed (and not many of them did) either. Kabayel should've by rights been out cold after eating a sustained assault like that from a big puncher or at the very least been dropped hard and been wobbling on spaghetti legs when he arose. I think the fact he wasn't is actually quite remarkable.

Smakici only knocked out D-grade journeymen, judging by his resume, though, and Kabayel did end up on shaky legs there; he held himself up on the ropes, and that was the only reason he didn't end up on the canvas. I'm not denying the guy can crack, but if Usyk or Itauma land a shot like that on Kabayel, it looks like it'd be curtains. I didn't realise he was put into such a world of trouble by a guy who is clearly nowhere near European level, never mind world or elite level.

Kabayal was literally cracked on the chin by the hardest puncher in the sport, a near 50lb heavier 287lb man mountain who one punch sparked out the iron-jawed Big Joe Joyce, who dropped the teak-tough J-Park x 2 including with a 6'' grazing shot, the same J-Park the big punching Fabio couldn't drop x 1 despite hitting him with everything bar the kitchen sink, and who sent The Dosser to the shadow realm.

Again, and Kabayel actually changed tactics and walked Big Bang down and beat him up after round 1

Usyk and Dave Allen both said Chisora hit them hardest

Mak is top 3 hardest puncher in the division too, another man mountain

Kabayel was all over the place, badly hurt from those Smakici punches. He was bothered by Smakici's handspeed.

I wouldn't fancy Kabayels chin to hold up against fast HW's, with good stamina and power. Usyk would knock him out, and probably Itauma too.

    His chin I'd say is a 7 or 6.

Smakici may be heavy handed but most of his stoppages were against absolute nobodies and he's not even a top 20 Heavyweight.

If Kabayel got seriously hurt by an elite Heavyweight it might be a different story.

Maybe you can give Kabayel the benefit of the doubt somewhat since Smakici can hit and we'll have to see how Kabayel's career progresses.

But I still wouldn't rate his chin as high as the other poster claimed.
