Will Tank Davis have any Legacy?

Lot of negatives and "uh... maybe's" to his resume and maybe not the best guy outside the ring, but put on some memorable fights and created some excitement. Let's hope his post career exploits don't top what he actually accomplished inside the ring because I have a feeling he could go way south with a lot of casualties without too much encouragement....

 

No in 10 years time no one will be talking about him. He will be a forgotten man and when his name does come up in conversation the most common word that will be used by his fans is "could"

 

Fantastic little fighter, His power to weight, speed etc is incredible, As mentoniond though, a lot of unfulfilled potential. If had the desire to be more active and build a stronger resume he could have gone down with a much greater legacy. He is one of my faviorte fighters to watch but i feel like this is a case of one of those fighters who made a tonne of money at an early age and for somebody who came from nothing this subdued his desire, Still a great fighter with a decent record but i think if he hadnt have made so much money and he was forced to be hungry he could have been phonomenal, At his peak he really did live up to the mini mike tyson comparison when he was still raw and vicious, he dosen't have that same raw spite like he used to and his style needs that to be at its best.

 

Paper accomplishments.... refusal to step in the ring with the best and rest of his contemporaries.

 

If being the greatest cherrypicker of his generation can be considered legacy, then sure.

A waste of time who should've atleast fought Haney loma teo or Shakur. Guy doesn't like boxing and is only in it to get money. When his money runs out he'll be back and get his ass kicked then retire permanently.

I actually agree with this he will come back when he runs out of money and be will run out. He knows no other way and by the time he comes back he will be past his best.

 

Tank had potential but squandered it by never facing current top challenges. He ducked Loma's prime for 7 years at 130 and 135 before finally calling out a washed Loma who retired instead of giving the ducker Tank a large age advantage. He avoided Haney and Teo at 135 and now is avoiding Shakur. To me that is less than no legacy, it's the legacy of a bully and a coward.

All told from performance to name to implications to weight to clauses his best win is still Jose Pedraza. That was a real top win back in 2017 but imagine telling someone Tank wouldn't have a better win 9 years later? Disappointing is an understatement
