Unlike the phony foul-mouthed "Belly", Usyk is a good man and a real Christian and won through his faith in God.
Usyk who is admittedly older , but taken care of himself far far better, only won by split decision in the first fight. Hardly laughable that 25 yr old Fury can win this
I think some are underestimating Fury’s chances here. A younger fresher Fury is a different animal. A younger fresher Usyk was struggling a bit with men like Chisora and Bellew. Usyk only won by a split when they were both old, I think this would be close, I can see a case for Fury. Usyk is overrated, sorry.
The difference in foot speed & mobility between 2015 vs 2024 fury is huge. If i had to bet on any version of fury to beat usyk, it would be the pre-drug binge one from late 2014–15
It shouldn't have been a split decision, though. Fury did well in a number of rounds, but that objectively should have been a clear UD - there simply isn't a case backed by evidence for giving Fury enough rounds to win. The question is... Was younger Fury capable of winning more rounds? Sure, he was a bit quicker and (on his good days) a bit harder to hit - but he was also less capable of generating power behind his punches (which did help at times against Usyk) and heavily dependent on clinching against Wlad, which just didn't work against Usyk. Does that Fury do better? A bit in some ways and a bit worse in some ways, I think... Does that turn what should've been a UD into going the other way? Not for me.
A younger fresher Fury got heavily dropped by Cunningham and was behind on points up until the stoppage. A younger fresher Fury almost lost to Wallin.
True. Fury had better movement then though. Before all the coke and alcohol and lay off, he’d do better bs Usyk.
