I've heard bits from Frampton about McGuigan robbing him, but what really happend?

I watched the documentary about Daniel Kinahan in which Barry spoke out against him and it got me thinking.

Because Kinahan was using boxing as a front and hearing that he basically charged boxers nothing for managing them, I wonder if he got in Frampton's head about Barry robbing him?

I've always thought of Barry as a standup guy.

I might be wrong, but from what I understand, McGuigans were basically about to get their ass kicked in the final stage of the trial, so decided to settle and gave Carl a ton of money he was owed. I don't think Daniel needed to get in Carl's ear about Barry, I think Carl had legitimate issues he could see for himself. MTK definitely turned the heads of quite a few fighters that Cyclone could never match though.

I'm not saying that, I'm saying that perhaps after he heard that Daniel hardly charged boxers maybe he felt he was being robbed?

Same as Josh Taylor, Chantelle Cameron and Lee McGregor. MTK offered them a signing on bonus and a zero fee management contract in order to launder money.

The fact nobody has left the McGuigan’s since MTK shut down tells its own story.

Hardly getting charged is good but getting shot at a weigh in evens it out haha. Most of my childhood friends have never had the night shifts and 4:30 am alarms I have but I’m alive and not in jail for decades like them. That’s the trade.

I always thought of Mcguigan the same as you and you may well be onto something. We will never know though, Carl may well have a right to feel aggrieved. Shame if Barry has done nothing wrong and his name is tarnished.

The McGuigan/Frampton argument is one thing these disputes often go to court over deductions the fighter feels are unfair, be it clear in the contract or not, The contract jargon and not having a contract read independently for the higher end fighters purse wise is an error on the boxers end to me.

If you are the fighter and you believe you are getting a certain gross amount even before tax and then find the figure has vastly shrinked you will be aggrieved.

That Barry tried to start a boxers union in the 90's and it didn't come to fruition was a shame, makes the case worse or me. BMG always came across as a boxers advocate, settlements are often reached but boxing management and promotion of fighters the higher the figures go the more problems they always bring.

If Barry hadn't have done anything wrong he wouldn't of settled out of court. And frampton wudnt be gloating of his financial victory. Agreement made so frampton can't speak of why . But his very open about how happy he was with the outcome.

Frampton often comes across as normal but isn't afraid of a court case

Carl Frampton is suing YouTuber and luxury watch dealer Nico Leonard Van Der Horst in the High Court in Belfast. The lawsuit alleges breach of confidence, misuse of private information, and breach of copyright regarding a 2022 video where Leonard revealed details of a high-end watch purchase
