Fury should fight Andy Ruiz

Nobody wants to see an Usyk-Fury trilogy - Fury being dominated much more second time around removed any doubts that Usyk had his number.

As for Fury-Ruiz... Why not?
They're both declined, both pretty durable with no quit in them and even though neither has ever had huge power, it could be fun enough to watch.

Fury as a sideshow fighting other no-longer-relevant guys could be fun... Or fighting never will be relevant guys (so I'm fine with Makh, for example) is also fine.

Fury testing guys like Wardley or Kabayel, who should really try and prove more, isn't the end of the world, either.

Just not Usyk.

 

At least Ruiz would be a better fight than Makhmudov.

And certainly over the likes of Shannon Briggs, Antonio Tarver and Samson Po’uha!

 

Ruiz no doubt wants a huge amount of money to get schooled and beaten up; he turned down Fury, Wilder and Zhang a couple of years back for this reason. But I agree, the fight has always made a lot of sense.

 

I don't know if Ruiz has a better chance than Makhmudov. At least Mak has size and power, and presumably takes training seriously. I also don't think Ruiz would even get the benefit of underestimation here as Fury would have the chance to make Joshua look bad, which he relishes. Ruiz would last longer than Makhmudov or go the distance but Makhmudov would have a better chance of landing something big while it lasted.

 

Ruiz actually has proven something. He was literally champion, and actually has attributes that could trouble Fury such as his handspeed.

What has Makh proven bar beating a good journeyman in Dave Allen and scraping through a very faded gatekepeer??!! Fury would badly school Makh.

 

I agree, it's the ultimate win-win. Ruiz is marketable but lead footed and is like a t rex. Both are unreliable to come in shape so it's interesting either way.

 

Great idea. Two overweight guys who haven't won a significant fight in years. The loser could buy dinner for both of them at an all you can eat buffet.

 

It wouldn't be a good fight to watch, the height difference is too much and Ruiz has short arms.

I'd sooner see Fury in with Makhmudov, who has one-punch KO power in the early rounds and so would have a chance of winning, especially since it's very likely Fury has declined after another long period of inactivity.

Mahkmudov, Wardley and a last chance against Usyk would make the most sense for Fury imo

If he wants a Usyk trilogy or AJ then his comeback fight needs to have SOME resistance...

 

And the only loser is the owner of the restaurant.

Visibly, Fury V Ruiz, could just be the ugliest looking matchup ever.
