Compared to the average US DAZN or Warren or Hearn card, which @Badbot is usually present and accounted for, it was pretty lackluster. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't necessarily good either.

I like they signed a bunch of kids.. Floyd Diaz, Meriwether, Nash etc..

Now start doing documentaries like you did in the UFC.. put them all in a house + tournament, get them trained by Crawford / Canelo.

UFC´s parent company signed a massive deal with Paramount+, and leveraged that relationship to finally get into boxing. Rumors are that Paramount is paying them $50 million for 12 cards a year, and there are already some agreements in place for how they will proceed if/when the ratings pick up.
Paramount+ is throwing around a lot money right now and expanding their content aggressively.

Its nice to see Al Bernstein weigh in, I miss a lot of the older voices of the sport that have been pushed to the back

I subscribe to Ring Magazines YouTube channel and like that they have panel shows to discuss fights. However, Max is a Zuffa guy making it quite clear. On one hand I respect that he's transparent about this. On the other I feel it give the discussions a lack of honesty. Like I want these commentators and analysts to talk about the fighters and fights and call balls and strikes. With a company man on board it is difficult to know where the line is between what he really believes and what the company tells him to say.

On this card we were reminded every 5 minutes about how amazing the card was and how great the boxers were, and what a gift this is from Dana/UFC.

that sounds nauseating. I remember getting hit over the head the last few years by commentators over using "lineal" "4 Belt era" "His excellency"

I just want to watch boxing and have the announcers honestly discuss the bouts and the stakes involved. I don't need the constant cheerleading.

I miss when it felt like there was some distance between the broadcaster and the promoter

It was so bad that Al Bernstein made a vague criticism of it. Al may be many things, but when it comes to boxing he is a professional and takes the job seriously. His sole focus is on commenting on the in ring action.
