I thought Andy lost but he showed plenty of good skills versus a fighter who fought a calm fight, stuck to his plan and out executed Cruz. If Cruz can improve upon the performance and grow as a fighter he will be a champion in the future. I think he could give the top guys in the division a tough night or win

 

Yeah, it does seem like poor ol Markus was a bit over zealous with Cruz. LOL

 

Cruz got it wrong in the pro game
Adapting to 12 round fights can take time and he just hasn't done enough to adapt fully

Well, not enough to win a world title anyway
I can imagine Matchroom were happy to allow him to be fast tracked in the way he has been as they use accountant brains and want a return on any form of investment asap
They stopped playing the long game once the DAZN deal kicked in and to be honest didn't really do it much before hand

People definitely got caught up in the hype of Cruz, personally I saw a good fighter but was baffled as to where the brilliance was

I'd imagine he'll come good though but the past weekend was a calculated risk gone wrong

 

To be fair Cuban Boxing has a long and glorious history with getting it wrong in the pros.
