Adam Azim the only fighter who can beat Shakur at 140

I think Shane McGuigan will be steering Azim away from challenging for a world title while Stevenson is at the weight. Azim is a good fighter his best option is to fight Dalton Smith and just fight on home soil. He has no business fighting non-UK fighters for the time being.

Don't get me wrong, I like him and see a bright future for him but at 23 he is far from ready.

There's a good reason why you don't know who he is......................just go to Youtube and watch a couple fights then report back..................you'll see the original post was kinda silly. Azim isn't even ready for anyone in the top 10.

 

It’s just a case of patience. Many get excited about a fighter and hype them up, excitable about what they can potentially become.

however, we need to focus on reality and what people have ACTUALLY achieved in this world.
I’m not knocking Azim, but instead of hyping and putting this pressure out there of what he’s not yet achieved, just be happy with what he has so far.

until he fights anyone remotely near teofimo level or wins at least 1 world title, comparing him to a 4 division champ who dominated one of the elite fighters of these weights is a bit off and does Azim no justice

 

With his injury record and the BBC deal, he is not being fast tracked

nobody is attacking Azim, so he doesn’t need defending.

have patience and if he goes on to do excellent things, good on him.
He doesn’t need to live his goals being compared to Shakur. I’m sure he will have his own goals.

To go back to your thread start, as of now, in Feb 2026…Shakur and Azim are worlds apart.

Maybe Azim will get there, only time will tell. He is doing good according to where he’s at right now, but there’s a long way to go too.

Azim has obvious talent but I sometimes think the people around him arent doing him any favours, going around saying that he beats dalton smith around the ring and beats teofimo Lopez but then fighting the guys he’s fighting is just crazy talk

It is absolutely fine, and to be expected to just say he’s not ready for these fights yet-no one would bat an eyelid but because of the wild claims from his team people are rightly asking them to back them up and it’s just not really happening

As a boxing fan all this talk of waiting around & meeting further down the line with world titles is wild, how many times has this sort of approach backfired? We’ve had some absolute disasters over the last few years with this mindset
Personally I’d like to see guys fight when the opportunity arises and it’s present & relevant, literally anything can and does happen in this game, injured/titles lost/stripped/banned/promoter politics etc etc
