Arthur showed how easy it was to rack up defence after defence in Germany during the 00s. Good fighter tho , I was a fan. Many thought he was going to give Carl hell , even win. The cobra wiped him out 12 - nothing

Strong as a bull with a really solid defense. What I liked the most about him was he always fought to his strength. He knew he was slow footed and had bad hand speed so he fought to his strength which was to land heavy shots and cover up. He would almost always lose the early rounds but his power and pressure would wear guys out and break them down. Solid fighter but could be outboxed fairly easily. Taking him head on and trading with him was a bad idea at 160 but 168 he wasn't nearly as effective.
I have some vague memory of Ulli Wegner that may have come from me or someone else pointing it out and remembering that but it's of him in the corner sarcastically lecturing Arthur that he needs to slow down because he'll "burn himself out at that pace!" Which is very Wegner. I was always intrigued by Abraham at both middle and super middle. He was one of those guys who looked like he might step up to great stuff for a little while but is mostly just a cool curiosity of title-holder history. He was never the man but he was an interesting also-ran. I still wonder if a Pavlik fight would've turned into something extremely competitive, or one of those Froch-like losses for AA or him getting dominated until he splatters Pavlik abruptly with an expertly set-up and timed shot. I'm not even sure what I think is most likely. So much speculation about a Pavlik fight, what was going on in his mind with that insane Dirrell ending, etc. The jaw fight with Miranda is something that I've returned to as an example of boxing injuries and injuries in a win ever since. As far as boxing injuries, I always point to Abraham's jaw, Lujan's ear, Marciano's nose, Damiani's nose, Rahman's head and this one guy I can't remember his name who tore his effing fingernail to hell inside the glove, I think he was a black Frenchman, maybe a 140-147ish pounder. Anyway, Arthur's was genuinely a remarkable injury and his kayos in several fights were absolutely end-of-year highlight reel stuff across the divisions.

he under achieved, he should have been more, to me it looked like he didn't see the severity or need to pick it up in the few fights he lost, like a gear or two was there, but never felt he 'needed' to get into them and quick... I was confused and disappointed by him in the end, I believe he had it but didn't or couldn't execute it. kind of like Kessler, who also should have been more.
Tough scrappy fighter, I liked his fights with Miranda. I see him as more of a contender a notch below. B-level.
Very good fighter. Power, defence, strength, chin. Just was not the same force at super middle as he was at middle. Too small for 168. Remember all his losses were at 168. He was undefeated and extremely dominant at middleweight.
