    We've been over this before.

Charles was a 21 year old, underdeveloped boy, nearer to the MW limit than LHW, when he lost to Marshall and Bivins. He avenged both multiple times once he had matured into a fully fledged LHW.

Charles has 7 wins whilst weighing within 175lbs that are better than JHL's best - Moore x 3, Bivins x 2 and Marshall x 2. 8 if you include a 3rd win over Bivins when Charles was 176lbs.

JHL IS underrated, but having him above Charles at LHW is insane. There's a reason why you're the only poster on the entire forum who does so, and it isn't because everyone else is wrong.

Well John Henry Lewis won the belt when he was a 21 year old. He was ranked when he was 18. Charles was an "underdeveloped" guy ranked 2nd in the division. Lewis couldn't see. What is a more valid excuse?

In this case everyone else is wrong. John Henry Lewis isn't the clear cut 175 GOAT. Quite a few fighters have good cases. Everyone and I mean everyone should have him over Ezzard Charles.

Yes, Charles was an undeveloped 21 year old boy when he lost to Marshall and Bivins. A quick check of - 1. His DOB; 2. His weights for those fights relative to a couple of years later and beyond; 3. The results of his multiple rematches against both - will confirm this for you.

If a fighter's 8th best win at a weight is better than anothers best, the only way you can rank the latter higher is by doing the kind of mental gymnastics you have.

Yes, if you value resume above all else and if you don’t count Charles losses too much.
