Filip Hrgovic vs. Justis Huni if they fought now, who would win?

I think it would be a relatively competitive decision, I don't think Hrgovic has the power to hurt Huni enough considering how much harder Huni is to land on than his other opponents. And Huni won't be hurting Hrgovic.

I'm leaning towards Huni because he seems to have better stamina down the stretch compared to Hrgovic who tends to gas out.

 

Both are technically decent enough but I'd have to go with the more proven fighter in Hrgovic via points decision.

Also, Huni I think could struggle with Hrgovic's jab.

 

Both are overrated. Both were supposed to be world champions already according to many. Huni got knocked the **** out.

 

On paper I think Huni has the advantage, as he is the better boxer, and Hrgovic does not have Wardley power to neutralize him with one punch. But Huni, rightly or wrongly, now has the smell of a fighter who pulls defeat from the jaws of victory, whereas Hrgovic mostly at least hangs in there and finds the path.

Narrowly Hrgovic but I am open to having my mind changed.

 

Hrgovic is a legit top 10 fighter who is probably quite avoided and will be a champion at some stage. Unfortunately I can't say the same about Huni yet.

I actually think a better and more competitive fight for both of them down under would be McKean vs Huni - assuming Huni isn't rematching Kiki Toa Leutele, who were scheduled to fight in December last year but due to Huni's head coach passing, was scrapped (Mick Francis said it will be rescheduled in 2026)

 

I'm not sure how good (or possibly average) Huni is, as he nearly shut Wardley out for 9 rounds, was doing better than Parker, but also almost got chinned by Lerena in a highly competitive fight that wasn't too far off being a draw, in my view.

He's an enigma at this point.

 

Huni would find a way to lose. Hrgovic make look disinterested but he finds ways to win, Dubois cheating heatbutt filled performance notwithstanding.

 

Hrgovic is overrated, but Huni is somehow even moreso.

I don't see either winning by KO... So we're looking at points - Hrgovic would lead through early rounds, but Huni would start pulling back a few later on.

This might genuinely be one where Hrgovic wins over 10, but it gets tight if it's over 12.

 

Huni would win he has super fast hands. I don't think Hrgovic would not him out. It's a very bad matchup for Hrgovic. Huni would win on points.

And the claim that Huni is more skilled than Hrgovic is based on...?

That he outpointed Wardley? Wardley was outpointed by Clarke 1st fight (who btw beat Huni also) and by slow, bodybuilder version of Parker. Not a great feat.

Hrgovic has better both amateur and pro accomplishments. Just completely baseless OP.

 

Filip Hrgovic would win, people underrate his power, i would pick him to win by stoppage.
