Here's what Gemini says but its not always accurate:

Arturo Gatti / Conor McGregor: +20 lbs

    Marcos Maidana I: +17 lbs

Canelo Alvarez / Oscar De La Hoya: +15 lbs

    Victor Ortiz: +14 lbs

    Carlos Baldomir: +13 lbs

    Diego Corrales: +11 lbs

All of Robby's opposition? He obviously could not do that--too brittle. Age-factored, he still might lose to a fair throng of pugs on Robby's scalp rack. A man of his delicacy would have to stay at his natural weight in the old days, or have a short career, as he still managed to do even in this tolerant day and age when every champ gets ideal recovery time between bouts.

No scalp on Mayweather's trophy wall, including Mayweather himself, would be a worry to either of the sugar Rays.

The value assigned to a mere name on a resume is wholly dependent on the career trajectory of that name, just as y is wholly dependent on x.

He would have more than 19 losses. PBF brittle hands wouldn't have held up if he fought every one or two months

    McCallumsJab,

There's been little thought given to this opinion.

What about how he'd have matched up with them on the night stylistically??

What about if it had been under the exact same conditions??

Now I'd say that if you could take the best version of Floyd, for one off fights against any of Ray's opposition, then, yes, it could have been be possible.

    Very unrealistic. But possible.

    But under the same conditions?

    Not a chance.

Floyd had a 50 fight career, where he had bad hands what he needed injections for.

Whereas Ray Robinson fought 220 times, into his 40's.

    Floyd had 18 month breaks.

Whereas Ray fought Jake, then rematched him just three WEEKS after. Not months. But weeks.

    It's unimaginable.

You say that Floyd would have beaten Maxim.

But after having had 130 fights??

It's not about the weights specifically. It's about the styles.

    Floyd cruised by Canelo.

Yet just 8 months later, he struggled like hell with Maidana.

Because Maidana fought him rough and dirty on the inside.

Yes, you can take into account modern day weigh-in rules.

But Floyd would always have had issues with JMW pressure fighters, who were strong and aggressive.

You can't view the Maidana fight, and then predict a cake walk against a guy like Jake.

    It's not engineering injuries.

    It's being REALISTIC.

It's realistic, if we're looking at a hypothetical scenario where Floyd fought under the same, or similar conditions.

    No.

Floyd ran his mouth off, saying he was going to knock out Winky and teach him a lesson.

Winky then agreed to all of Floyd's demands and the split.

Everything was agreed to in principle.

But Floyd then tried to change the terms at the very last minute, which scuppered the fight.

Winky would have been an awful stylistic match up for Floyd.

    An awful fight for Floyd.

He'd have had no speed or reach advantage, which is what he had over 90% of his opposition.

He also didn't possess Ray's offensive arsenal at the weight.

He also wasn't anywhere near as strong or powerful.

Yes, he had a better defence.

But that wouldn't have won him the fight.

Ray would have boxed with him, until at any time, he'd have put the hammer down.

And at any point he'd have done that, he'd have put Floyd into a defensive position, thus nulifying Floyd's own offense.

It's completely unrealistic to have favoured Floyd.

Regarding excuses, you really don't want to go down that road.

    So?

    They were against different fighters.

By your logic, he'd have been able to have beaten various older LHW's, based on him beating Canelo, who was huge on fight night.

If anyone truly believes that Floyd would even have entertained fighting Archie or Ezzard, they need locking up for their own safety.

Both Rays and Hearns aren't good fights for Floyd at WW.

They're too fast, too hard-hitting and too killer in work rate and mentality.

I'm convinced that Robbi and Leonard could well stop him- if Floyd is defensive versus Tommy, he loses a lopsided decision. If he opens up, the leverage and power Tommy has on the left hand and right follow up is dangerous.

Tommy is a fighter that you have to walk through fire to win as he could be stopped.

PBF had the handspeed and mentality to go toe to toe at 130 - 140, hands and injuries permitting. Money Mayweather just ain't taking the punishment that Leonard absorbed or walking through the punches that Marv did.

Mayweather has a far superior defense and his punches are straighter, better timed and typically hidden behind his should with his right counter. Mayweather would look to pot shot or make SRR miss and counter him. Also while Robinson might look as quick, he wouldn't nearly be as good as landing first. SRR was outjabbed by Lamotta and outboxed by in his prime Turpin. So Mayweather would typically beat SRR to the punch. If it goes the distance FMJ should win. SRR has the power and combination punching to score a KO.

SRR isn't unbeatable as we saw even in his prime and Mayweather is a clear level if not levels above his best opponent.

As for the point that Floyd being in a defensive position nulififies Floyd's defense, this never happened whenever he took up defensive positions, he picked counters

Actually come to think of it, all the points you've made as your case, could be made for Zab Judah or Delahoya or Pacquaio over Floyd

Arum changed the split to 55-45 and Winky didn't agree. SRR did the same thing with Archie Moore. Demanded more money to face the champion. Archie asked for his wife to get his coat and proceeded to leave.

You could argue they were both pricing themselves out if you want to.

Winky might have been a very difficult for Floyd with his workrate and jab. However if Floyd beat him to the punch or if can take the jab away or counter it consistantly, he takes away Winky's best weapon. Winky lost to Harry Simon and struggled with Quartey who is possibly the most similar fighters to Floyd that he faced. Winky's only advantage over Floyd is height/weight, every other advantage goes to FMJ

For some reason you think SRRs 220 fights, which have a far far higher proporation of journeyman and bums, is harder than FMJs 50 fights which were all world level from his 18th fight onwards when he took on all time top super featherweight champion.

You're cherry picking a Maidana close fight at the age of 37, while ignoring Robinson was losing these fights in his early 20s. And ignoring the fact the immediate rematch showed FMJ the better man

FMJ never lost but you have no issue with SRR's countless losses against opponets who weren't great fighters

It's not just the opposition but the schedule that would make it different. Robinson didn't fight once or twice a year like Mayweather, guys in Robinson's era were fighting twice a month. That wears the body down a lot faster. Impossible to know how he would handle that. Also, he wouldn't have the luxury in that era of picking who he wants to fight.
No way would he be fighting Jake LaMotta once, much less six times.
