Unbelievable how he hasn't been stripped of the WBO. Definitely some shady business going on with Alimkhanuly/Top Rank and the WBO
The division is awful enough as it it, without it being held up for another year.

So it'll be Denzel Bentley vs Savendraa for the Interim WBO title.

And probably Etinosa Oliha vs Shakiel Thompson for the vacant IBF title, as they are ranked the highest with the IBF.

 

Haha wtf, Ngamissengue had his chance and he failed miserably. He's not even ranked in any of the organisations top 15!

I suppose rules are rules, and if Meldonium is a prohibited substance then Janibek has broken the rules by having it in his system. Saying that, as far as doping offences go this is on the lower end; there is very little in actual evidence to suggest Meldonium has performance enhancing effects.

 

However, he put up a very good fight against a doped and cheating boxer.

 

Suspending people for doing something positive is exactly what's wrong with this country.

It's not even much of a ban. These blokes are only boxing around 1 time per year anyway. What's likely to happen is now he's out of the pool he'll roid even more and come back stronger

Per the KPBF’s (Kazakhstan Professional Boxing Federation) report, the substance entered his system after emergency medical treatment in May.

Medical documentation showed he was treated for a transient ischemic attack and prescribed Ripronat, a medication legal in Kazakhstan that contains Meldonium. The commission determined that Alimkhanuly was negligent “to a minimal degree” and imposed the six-month suspension.

Hopefully Janibek can still keep his WBO belt. I'd hate to see a supreme talent like that fizzle out
