I can see both of the above s point of view. Personally I'm slightly leaning towards Wilder doing something remarkable and actually stopping James. But I can see Toney absolutely making him look very ordinary before the explosion!
The problem for Toney is Wilder has to land only once and its over. I could see Toney making Wilder looking foolish and Wilder connecting wth that right and stopping Toney. And say what you will about Wilder but he has heart so I don't think Toney could ever discourage him.
Toney had the skill to box circles around wilder. And he very well might have. But I can also see him getting hit with some of those big right hands and deciding to go on the retreat which may cost him on the cards if he starts running all night
Any fighter that sends out a carrier pigeon , or telegraphed there punches the way Wilder does has very little chance of beating even the fat version of Toney we saw at heavyweight if he had anything left. Wilder was far too predictable for Toney. Wilder pushed instead of snapped his jab, using it to range find, as opposed to an actual weapon. A fighter as skilled as Toney was, if all other skills are lacking being able to keep a good jab on him at least would keep him off track , and maybe set up the right hand to land Sure Wilder punched hard enough to get Toney out of there. But unlike ALL of the men Wilder faced in the ring, Toney had ATG skill level. Simply loading up and throwing hard punches until something substantial landed simply wouldn't work against him. Toney would slip and counter him literally to death. Toney by shockingly easy ko. Especially if he gets past four or five rounds.
This is pure delusion lmao, Toney had no legs at HW, and lost to anyone that used a good jab. Wilder beats him by UD or TKO regardless
I understand the logic of those who say Wilder wins but with his resume and track record against anyone remotely clever and or tricky I struggle to fathom him landing the right hand. I see Toney shutting down Wilder and winning a decision
