Does anybody have an idea why usyk does this ?

He will throw anything away he reached when he really tries to tell the world he just defended a world title against a non boxer who,s name was nevet heared before . If you read comments outside this forum , they are devastating .

If i was usyk i would choose between three realistic options :

1) face kabayel and risk a loss , it would not break his career at his age .

2)vacate the belts saying that he had his moments but father time spares nobody . Then fight for charity verhouven , paul or whoever he wants .

3)retire at all

All three option would be imho better than this .

 

He switched to "old champion mode" and is messing around looking for the easiest fights for most money.

 

At the price of his own legacy ?

Many old champions looked for "soft touch" opponents , i agree , but fighting a world title against a completely unknown non boxer is something different - afaik never seen before .


He makes fun of himself and i struggle to see why

 

I guess he thinks his legacy is solidified enough that these type of things won't affect it. He also may fight some top contenders after this, who knows.

 

If this fight goes the distance and Usyk gets the decision, then they both have won. And Rico can get another fight in boxing. A matchup with Joshua would be super interesting also.

If Rico wins however (in that scenario a KO would be more likely than a decision) then his legendary status will go stratospheric.

 

Rico cannot win this . If it goes to the distance its even more a laugh resp usyk intentionally carried him

Any half decent top50 jorneyman would brutally ko rico inside maximum two rounds if not holding back . More brutally than ngannou vs aj

 

I'm not at all that convinced that Usyk will KO Rico, maybe a TKO yes...

But I can easily see the fight go the distance as well, and that would be a bigger W for Rico than it would be for Usyk.

 

Somehow i also expect this , for the show alone and to not let this fight look too lousy .

Against zhang , kabayel , wardley , hrgovic etc rico would leave the ring on a stretcher first -second round .

Its similar to ask how much chances a soccer player has in tennis againt a world level tennis player .

 

1. You honestly think Usyk is willing to tarnish his legacy just to carry Rico 12 rounds, instead of scoring a KO or TKO. Even worse, you think this is in the contract somehow? Please, dude...

3. No, it's not. Boxing and kickboxing have much more overlap than soccer and tennis. Again, this is the dumbest thing I have read all day.

If you want to be taken seriously, you have to try harder. Stop making idiotic assumptions, stop exaggerating and stop making dumb comparisons.

Now I don't doubt that Usyk will box his ears off, no doubt at all, but anything less than a KO or TKO is a W for Rico. That's all I'm saying.

 

Nothing is going to take away his legacy, Mr. Glowacki. He is a two-divison, undefeated, three-time undisputed champion with thirteen title wins, including elven fights against fellow champions, including you Mr. Glowacki.

Honestly i think he actually tarnished it by taking such a fight at all as a title defence , imho not that smart from him .

i understand virtually all here is discussed on a spectators level infront the tv , i guess less than 2 percent of the users here ever performed this sport for real .
