Maybe. Maybe not. Wlad was the #1 contender in 2001 & 2002. Lennox could have fought him after Tyson, but didn't.

 

I don’t think so. He had many flaws that messed him up, questionable gas tank for one. Was very tentative at times, and got hit too much in the early days. And ofc the chin was suspect but that was already pointed out in your post. We can argue about how his in ring behavior would change if he had a better chin but I think that goes too far into fantasy and speculation to make any real argument

 

Wlad was superb when behind his jab controlling the distance and pace. His problem was he had to do this perfectly because if a fight broke out he was getting knocked out.

 

He's been in fights where "a fight broke out" and he ended things pretty quickly.
