Terence Crawford vs Gennady Golovkin prime for prime

I'm saying Crawford beats Golovkin for sure.

Golovkin can't land on a fast, magnificent mover like Crawford.

 

After the Madrimov fight I couldn’t see Crawford winning. Madrimov used a similar approach to Golovkin, style and technique and in reality won that fight or at least came really close.

 

I'm in agreement with many of the posters. I think a prime GGG stops Bud. Golovkin had an iron chin. Never saw him even staggered, let alone knocked down. It's a disgrace the way the Canelo trilogy played out. Canelo waited until Golovkin was past his prime, then "allowed" GGG to fight him. And Golovkin still beat him in the first two fights. The Canelo era of boxing was a sham. Bud proved this.

 

Porter was a different kind of pressure to what GGG offered. He was more of a swarmer/brawler, used his fast feet and head movement to get in close and smother his usually taller opponents while throwing fast but not really powerful combinations. Much more chaotic and unpredictable than the more controlled pressure of GGG who was significantly slower with his hands, feet, and head movement, and focused more on slowly stalking and cornering his opponents while throwing singular power shots than fast swarming combinations.

Also with the chin Gennady had… how would bud keep him off him??

 

I’m a big fan of Bud but let’s be real here prime GGG is just too much for Bud. Bud himself even stated that Canelo was a gamble worth taking due to the similar size of both fighters despite the distance between the Divisions both fighters fought in.Yes Canelo beat GGG at the third attempt (robbed in previous fights) but even that was not over a prime GGG and let’s not forget that Canelo prior to those fights in 2016 had dropped the WBC belt to avoid the mandatory GGG. I am certainly not saying GGG would win easy because that is not the case due to the skill set of Bud,but at some point GGG gets to Bud and more than likely stops him . GGG is already being slept on by a few which is a shame .

 

Nah, G had a great jab and cut the ring off very well. Those 2 things give G the edge ove TC in my opinion. Canelo, when he decided to use the jab, did not use it nearly as effectively as G. Canelo doesn't cut the ring off well enough. That's why he never trapped TC on the ropes or in the corners or was in range as much as he wanted.

 

GGG walks through TC, beats him down real bad.

 

Nobody actually thinks that Crawford would have a chance in this fight it's only GGG haters that say he does.

 

It makes me a bit sad that most casuals have only seen Golovkin in the Canelo fights, specifically the last two. He was well past his prime and was an elite amateur from a young age. He had 300+ fights at a high amateur level which takes its toll on guys, especially with pressure styles.

A prime, let's say 30 year old Golovkin KO's Crawford easily. Plenty of less prime versions beat him as well.
