Is Big Nelson Asofa Solomona AKA Big Nasty a future heavyweight contender?

Will have to keep his hands higher against the elites. Which he will surely do if get gets to fight them.

A problem in Aussie boxing at least at HW is most of our guys are just rugby players not life long boxers who rely on their sheer athleticism to win.

In fact I think that’s a problem throughout Aussie boxing is we have a bunch of really really good athletes but we don’t seem to teach defence or the whole art of boxing.

We need to invest in getting a good amateur system imo because from my experience even at a low hobbyist level a lot of the ethos of our training doesn’t seem to be on par with other countries.

But then again we do punch above our weight for only having 25 million people, less than Thailand and Indonesia both of which we dwarf in size.

 

I don't like his chances given his age. Granted I just seen the highlights. But For some people these days 29 is young and they can have a long career. You look back at some athletes particularly AFL in the 90s for example when they were in their 20s they looked more like in their 40's. Times have changed. I don't like our heavyweight prospects tbh. Huni isn't what I thought he'd be.

Have we ever had an Australian heavyweight champion? Lucas Browne won a WBA Title? No disrespect but is that a lesser version of it. A titles a title I don't get all this nonsense either.

 

And how many ****ing titles are there? WBO
WBC IBF and more I've lost count. Some mean more than others apparently.

 

The size of Australia is ridiculous, I thought of it as being about the same size of Indonesia, most of Borneo, Sumatra, half of New Guinea etc, but Australia is 4 times the size…must be a hell of a desert

 

The funniest thing is we’re that big think 6th? Largest country in the world but because most of the country is barely habitable outside of coastal areas.

He has power and actually doesn't look bad at all. Hopefully he can earn a bit of cash while he's on the sidelines.

 

115kg? I think that’s the weight Craig Bellamy wanted him to be 10 years ago. He was 133kg on his pro debut.
