Saying Jai would beat Benavidez is fine but acting like Benavidez has nothing for him is pure delusional fan boy stuff. If David had moved up to cruiser and looked like that against Glanton you would be dogging him out.

 

I’ll maintain my stance until Benavidez fights Zurdo. I’m tipping David but not with any confidence.

“Looked like that” against Glanton is just straight up insulting to Opetaia, who won every minute of that fight. Glanton’s chin is better than Benavidez’ and that’s not even an opinion. Benavidez has been sat on his arse by guys who wouldn’t even be sparring partners for a guy like Opetaia. Conversely, if Opetaia lands the shots he landed on Glanton on Benavidez then he’s leaving on a gurney. There’s levels to this game and Opetaia is just bigger, tougher and hits harder than anything Benavidez has ever been in with.

 

You can win every round and still look mediocre especially against a former football player who didn't start boxing until age 21. Hilarious how he is being pumped up around here. Opetaia fan boys are out of control you even got some suggesting the HW's will start ducking him. lol.

Are you talking about the guy who was given a tough night out by Caleb Plant? The guy that was dropped by both Ronald Gavril and David Morrell. At light-heavyweight? I don’t care about the size disparity. It’s the chinny chin chin and the power disparity that is the problem for Benavidez.

Opetaia may actually kill the guy. Hell, he might not beat the coward Zurdo.

I'm still not convinced the matter of the IBF title is resolved, even now.

The IBF's latest correspondence is a press release dated March 10th. It concludes as follows :

'The status of the IBF Cruiserweight Title remains in deliberation. Jai Opetaia made comments during the post-fight press conference that have led the organization’s leadership to question whether he was made completely and fully aware by his advisors of the decisions he needed to make when committing to the bout against Brandon Glanton. The organization intends to look further into this matter.'

 

Nah, you’re right mate. Opetaia is trash. I mean, Mairis Briedis ain’t no Ronald Gavril. He ain’t no David Morrell. Those guys dropped Benavidez so they’d almost certainly destroy Opetaia. Your only problem is that Opetaia actually has a world class chin. Oh, and he cracks harder than both of those guys put together.

You have a very selective memory. You pull apart Opetaia after the Glanton fight yet seem to have forgotten that your mate was given nightmares for the first 5 rounds by Caleb Plant. Caleb goddamn Plant. Just think about that for a second. How long do you think Caleb Plant lasts against Jai Opetaia? Be honest with yourself…Opetaia gets Plant out of there in 2-3 rounds.

I like Benavidez. I really do. And I have never suggested that Opetaia would be ducked at HW. Anybody saying that is delusional. But it’s factually correct to say that the current crop of allegedly top CW’s have ducked him and the evidence is there for all to see.

I’ll give Benavidez props if he’s game enough to get in there with Opetaia (no matter the outcome) but he’s got to beat Zurdo first and that is far from a foregone conclusion.
