If you're calling for Itauma to get a shot at Usyk, you have no business complaining about Rico

First off, yeah, I'd rather see Usyk against Kabayel or Wardley too, and in fact, still want to see Parker get as shot. I will watch Rico and enjoy it for what it is, and for reasons I've explained, I think Usyk has ever right to do it, and it will bring a million new eyes to the sport from countries that don't like boxing. But I feel your pain.

If you've bought the Itauma hype hook, line and sinker, and are one of these guys waxing poetic about how great it would by if Moses got a shot, or crying that Usyk is ducking Moses, let's just say it like it is: Moses as this point is not better than Rico.

Let me repeat, in case you didn't get that: MOSES IS NOT BETTER THAN RICO AT THIS POINT.

Never mind that he only fights a couple of times a year, and his best win is a de-roided Dillian Whyte that proves nothing. It's not even that he has openly ducked Sanchez, and according to Gassiev's camp, they can't even get him on the phone when the WBA graciously made him #1 so that this can happen. But Moses also has recently put out those disturbing videos where is mumbling to himself in a daze apparently stoned, which is a problem in and if itself, but so badly that some have wondered whether or not he is experiencing the first signs of CTE.

Yes, I know that Rico is a kick-boxer, and the skills don't perfectly translate. But I at least we know he's got a hell of a chin, and the argument could be made that he won't be hurt any more by an Usyk punch that a professional kickboxer's kick. But Moses needs to get in there with real competition and prove that he's all there before we can entertain this.

Let's hear no more about Moses Itauma fighting Usyk until he beats Franklin, accepts a real challenge, and emerges victorious from that. Given his own slow pace at making fights and his cautious route, that could be quite awhile.

Im certainly not calling for an Itauma fight, Itauma hasn't beaten any real contenders and is inexperienced. But if Usyk beats Itauma that could age really well like Mayweather beating Canelo or Lewis beating Vitali.

if we're trying to compare them, Itauma is a far better opponent than a damn kickboxer. What the hell are you posting man !

Again, pretty well delineated. Moses needs to prove there is nothing wrong with him. This is going to be one of the "not hard to understand" things.

Keep supporting this garbage ass fight. Usyk could fight Aspinall or Jake Paul and you would still be coping like you are now

Nope. You aren't reading. This thread is about how Moses doesn't even seem healthy and needs to prove himself in that respect.

Please read the opening statement, which is not hard to understand at all.

Disagree with this one Catch, Itauma was a brilliant junior amateur, the same caliber as Fury at the same age. Golds at the World and European juniors shows that he's clearly got the natural boxing talent. He hasn't beaten anyone of note yet in the pros, but he's taken on guys who are probably in and around that top 50, and he's looked excellent doing it. Great punch selection, speed, and footwork. He already ticks a lot of boxes. Nobody knows how good he actually is yet; he might have a glass jaw, but Rico has knocked out 1 journeyman. Moses is miles ahead of him.

The fact is that Usyk should not be fighting either of them. I don't think Itauma beats Usyk, but I'd much rather see a confident, fresh, explosive southpaw talent facing Usyk than a pro kickboxer who is 37 next month and has less than 5 minutes of experience inside a professional boxing ring. I don't think this fight personally brings millions of new fans into boxing, either. It's a shameless cash grab, made much worse by the fact that it's on PPV and has the WBC belt on the line. The sooner it is out of the way and forgotten about, the better.

The only people calling for this are idiots like Max Kellerman.

Itauama has not earned a shot.

Maybe not right now, but in a year or 2 with his progress he probably will.

Respectfully , you here completely derail yourself if you even for a second try to explain us that rico is on par with moses in a boxing ring .

He is commonwealth champion where rico is a bit short of this ( LOL ) and rico would be easily beaten by any active ranked hw CBC boxer .

Against itauma rico would kiss the canvas first round . Its a completely different world .

    It could, sure...

But it only would if Moses went on to become the champ. If he turns out to be little more than Pricey MK2 (which is still possible) then it'd be a worthless use of time.

It's one of those that's not necessarily terrible as a speculative thing, but you might have to take a few fights like that for one of them to pay back the investment.

I agree with the sentiment. Same with Wardley and it annoys me that the sanctioning bodies have elevated younger flawed fighters that Usyk would probably beat. It undermines all criticism of Usyks conduct to get upset at him for not fighting a 20 year old or even a 30 year old. It makes it seem like the dozen or so older fighters Usyks aging out don't exist and validates the idea Usyk has cleaned out the division.

Now on the other hand Rico is a 1-0 kickboxer who most of us had never heard of before. Hes just blatantly unqualified for the oppurtunity regardless who the other guy is. Under different circumstances Usyk fighting Wilder and Andy Ruiz is the sort of thing thats happened many times. This is worse then giving a title shot to Jake Paul. Now Jake Paul is a celebrity troll and Rico is a random Dutch person so its not going to get people as upset but strictly on merit someone with Pauls record is more deserving.

Moses is no better than a kickboxer with 1 pro boxing fight to his name 12 years ago? Just when I thought you couldn’t get any dumber, you somehow managed to exceed my expectations.

It's hard to understand why he needs to prove himself because some random on a forum is demanding it. What are your medical credentials again?
