Zuffa Boxing 4: Jai Tapu Opetaia vs. Brandon Benard Glanton & Ricardo Salas vs. Jesus Saracho RBR.

Brag on his behalf when the fight even looks like a possibility because at the moment, straight from his own mouth, it aint gonna happen.

 

Jai already took out the top American cruiser - by running from him all fight apparently.

 

Fair enough but David doesn’t pack the same heat that Briedis does.

 

Glanton has a head like a brick. Nobody has ever dropped him. Nobody has ever stopped him. Some guys are just like that.

What we did see though was Opetaia hand Glanton the beatdown of his life. Including turning his head into a pumpkin and having him on rocking shoes late in the fight.

 

For sure, and Jai knew how dangerous he was, you don't see him give many the respect he gave Brandon. He opened up on Briedis earlier than he did Glanton.

 

Glanton was 18 KOs in 24 fights dangerous and when you can punch like that and have a head like a brick as well, you need to be treated with caution.

 

Aggressive too, real mean streak. I thought he was the toughest opponent Jai has fought apart from Briedis. Though Massey was close and Cinkara very underrated.

 

Finally watched the entirety of the fight, reminds me of Usyk vs Hunter - lots of similarities in the performances and fan reactions on the forum here.

 

I was in a state of semi hibernation with Aussie boxing. We don't see legendary boxers that often, and the last one who had me glued to screens at very odd hours was the magnificent Kostya.

There have certainly been some standouts, but none that drew comparisons to guys like Jeff Fenech and Kostya Tszyu; that is until this big kid with Islander heritage made himself impossible not to feel hope towards, hope that here is probably our greatest ever boxer, early in his period of world domination.

I gush not, he is genuinely that good, and only time will tell if he gets there. He is like a shapeshifter in the ring, and completely changes his fighting style

I haven't been so interested in Aussie boxing since Kostya. This Opetaia kid might one day be considered our greatest ever boxer; and he's certainly on track for it.

 

The only thing Eddie cares about when it comes to anything Australian is clapping Skye Nicholson’s cheeks.

 

Benavidez wont take that fight. He'll hop between 175 and CW while aging out Beterbiev and Bivol.
