Evander did very well in their rematch, what if it was a younger prime Holyfield in there instead?

I think Lewis still wins but it's closer.

Lewis still clearly won the 2nd fight IMO even if it was closer than the 1st so possibly slightly closer than that.

I agree, I also think that Holyfield did not win the next fight 10 months later - against John Ruiz

I give the Holyfield from the second Bowe fight an excellent shot of edging out the version of Lewis that fought Holyfield.

I thought the second Lewis-Holyfield was a draw, or a win for either guy by one round.

And Holyfield was more shot by this time than people realise. The Bowe trilogy screwed up Bowe and he was the one WON the trilogy. And Holyfield had a lot more wars besides them. Immediately after, Holyfield should’ve lost to Ruiz three times, got KO’d by Toney, lost wide to Byrd.

Hard to see how Lewis could’ve beat that Holyfield. Same guy he fought in ‘99 just faster, sharper, with a bit more bite to his punches.

Lewis is overrated h2h. His resume is pretty varied, he dominated over a long period, but he never hit the ‘high highs’ h2h that most ATGs do.

Lewis was pretty gassed in the 2nd half of the fight vs Holyfield in their 2nd meeting.

I feel like the 1993 version of Holyfield who bulked vs Bowe. And used constant in an out movement firing off rapid fire combinations may be able to edge Lewis via decision.

The Holyfield of the 2nd Bowe fight had better energy levels compared to the 1999 version of Holyfield. And that might be the difference considering Lewis was pretty tired vs a past it Holyfield in their rematch down the stretch.

I agree with the poster above that Lewis I feel like does get a tad overrated in regards to his H2H ability.

I'm not saying Lewis with his size and skills isn't a very good H2H fighter. But alot of fans seemed to put him on a pedestal suggesting he's close to unbeatable and I don't see it that way.

Holyfield KO I bet Lewis would even say that, arrogant as he is. Young Holyfield? Holyfield would cracka lacka that stiff.

Likewise I think Lewis was in better shape the first fight.

So maybe it should be Lewis from the first fight vs Holyfield who beat Bowe.

I like Lewis by competitive decision. He took Holyfield's shots well and had that big power to keep things under control.

Holyfield, much better than 1999 Holyfield that fought Lewis.

Holyfield outworks him to a decision. I haven't watched Holyfield v Lewis II in quite some time. I remember thinking that the decision could've gone either way, at the time.

Lewis wins again, but Holyfield makes it closer.

Bowe didn't quite seem to be the same fighters from their first fight, yet could have easily gotten the decision.

Lewis from Holyfield 1 was clearly a better fight than Bowe from Holyfield 2, imo.
