Lennox Lewis always beating Mike Tyson has become overatted

I find it strange that many boxing fans today say a prime Lennox Lewis would easily beat any version

Tyson would have beaten Lewis anytime up till he went to to jail in 92. Lewis would have beaten tyson anytime after that

'prime' Tyson that lost to Buster freaking Douglas? C'mon.

What's all this 'prime' crap about anyway. Lewis was older than Tyson when they fought.

Lewis would have always have beaten Tyson.

I don't think Lennox's win against Vitali gets enough credit.

Lennox, despite being the older of the two, was still in the amateurs representing Canada when Mike Tyson was at his best. Anyone who fought Tyson at his best got hit on the chin a lot so unless your chin is granite (which Lennox's wasn't) that presents a large hurdle to overcome in order to win.

I think so, however Tyson could have potentially caught Lewis with a bomb all the way through 1999.

A lot of people don't even know the difference between Norway rats, roof rats and woodrats. But that is why they have rats. They don't know anything.

According to Joe Egan Tyson knocked Lewis "spark out" in sparring.

LOL, Douglas actually beat McCall easily. He also beat good versions of Page and Berbick. And are you really counting a very close win obver 45-years-old Larry Holmes and draw against 38-years-old former middleweight James Toney as great achievements?

Tyson focused in his prime was unstoppable

bringing up the loss to Buster is a cop out

he was not focused at all and it showed

I asked Mike Tyson about his sparring session with Lennox Lewis once. His response was "I was the best at that age". I interpreted his response as meaning "I beat the $### out of him". That's not what he said, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

I watched both their careers real time. I rate Lewis very highly and think he had the better overall career. But I think a peak Tyson v a peak Lewis is a very very close fight. I'd probably lean slightly towards Lewis. But I could easily see Tyson landing on him.
