The IBF have now f’ed Opetaia over twice.

And people talk like Zuffa is a grubby organisation. The IBF are just as deplorable.

How are they running the shows as promotor and manager? Does it go through the athletic commission etc

Ah yes, i forgot about the 2nd WBSS

Issue now with this, is he can retire as undefeated lineal champ and zuffa champ.
unless his management does something he won’t be achieving his goal of undisputed, as he has 2 statuses that are irrelevant to undisputed

The champion needs to be bigger than the belts. Hopefully this is a big step towards a single champion per division. Would anyone really care if IBF, WBO and WBA disappeared tomorrow?

I agree. The champ makes the belts not the other way around!

Not sure the fat lady has sung on this one yet?

There's further talk it will end up in a courtroom.

    Bingo.

Every real boxing fan knows that Opetaia is the best CW on the planet. This alone renders the other strap holders redundant in my opinion.

Mixed feelings as Opetaia made his bed but DUCKER COWARD piece of CRAP ''zurdo'' could not take his beating like a man so in that sense I do feel for Opetaia who would likely have ****ing battered the former plodding weight bully to absolute pieces.

The sanctioning bodies should have FORCED the unification fight but they didn't so they ****ED Opetaia unfairly and now they have ****ED him fairly.

Sanctioning bodies are inconsistent and run by absolute self-serving money-grubbing SCUM but meatball head arrogant CASUAL who knows **** all about boxing Dana White is not the answer either...so it's a tricky one.

The IBF were informed pre-fight by Opetaia's management that the Zuffa title was a 'trinket' and the fight, although for the IBF title, 'would not be a unification fight.'

That had the look of the IBF being fed b.s. so as they would continue to allow Opetaia to defend their belt. BUT...

At that point in time the Zuffa belt WAS legally only a trinket.

Why? Because the Zuffa Boxing-backed Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act - effectively the required update to the existing Ali Act - had not been passed at all the required levels.

Only yesterday - more than 2 weeks after the Opetaia-Glanton fight - the updated Ali Act was passed by the House of Representatives. It still needs to progress to be finally signed off on by the US president, a mere formality, one would think. Particularly when you factor in Trump's relationship with White.

In short, when Opetaia fought Glanton, the Zuffa belt was legally only a trinket. That is absolutely indisputable. As of yesterday, the Zuffa belt went another step closer to transitioning from a trinket to a title, but it hasn't yet. This may be only a technicality, but it may also bite the IBF on the bum in a court of law and that seems to be where this thing is headed.

People may not be fully satisfied with the orgs, but sometimes it’s better the devil you know.

I feel like this stronger hatred for the orgs and demand to be rid of them has been pushed on us by the media.
