I think it's the 1976 episode of Wide World of Sports where Ali talked to Cosell about his predecessors as champion. The same one where he famously said what a tough fight he'd have had against Marciano. This content is protected
Tunny was a scientific slikster he was legitimately knocked out by Dempsey (the long count) I counted it many times 14 seconds. one of the bizarre endings in boxing history.
You have to understand the context of remarks like this. The media in those days were old white guys that fought WW 2 or 1 and thought the greatest fighters of all-time were Dempsey Tunney Louis and Marciano. This was sacrosanct no one was going to tell them different. They thought Ali was one of the worst champs of all time. When new fighters talked about those all timers they better talk with respect or the wrath of the sporting world would come down on them. In spite of that I ve seen other interviews where Frazier and Ali did dare say those old time guys couldn’t compare to them. Ali beat prime Liston Foreman Frazier Norton Terrell etc and you think he’s in awe of Tunney and Marciano?? The old time media guys saw Ali beat Frazier and Foreman and realized his arrogance was to sell tickets then they fell in love with him and the nation followed.
