You need to watch the first Stiverne fight again. He didn't really offer much in the form of offense, he was target practice for Wilder's jab. That isn't a fight I'd point to in order to prove Wilder was good at lateral movement/fighting backing up despite the fact Wilder looked great. It's not his fault Stiverne became a lazy, unmotivated fat ass after winning his title.

I said it correctly the first time. Usyk wants Wilder as a legacy win for the history books so no one can claim Usyk didn't beat all the best champions from his era.

Stiverne was much worse then most of Wilders other world level opponents. Wilder was also fighting to become a champion and maybe entered that fight with a different mindset. Makes sense he just was willing to take the rounds and get the wins without trying to make something happen that wasn't needed.

Fighting Wilder prior to the losses to Zhang and Parker would have been acceptable but at this stage for Usyk it seems like a money grab against an undeserving opponent who represents less risk.

Also is Wilder really more accomplished than several guys Usyk hasn't faced like Parker, Wardley, and Kabayel? I feel like Kabayel has already surpassed Wilder and Wardley will if he beats Usyk. Hrgovic is also close.

Were Wilder to beat Kabayel or the Wardley/Dubois winner than that would be fine for Usyk to face him.

It’s fairly obvious but it’s best not to say because it hits a nerve.

I was mentioning earlier about the double standards (or in another thread as any thread that mentions wilder just goes into this witch hunt).
Even durung this same era, the beloved Tyson Fury has done and said the same and worse things, but he’s still loved.

With Mike Tyson, although he was hated at the time for being a ****** and an unhinged (on a different level for wilder), now he has retired and is relaxed, strangely those who hated him now love him, and those who loved hate, hate anyone else who behaves a fraction like him.

wilder has been the closest to a modern day Mike Tyson of the era, but with a mix of the aged Tyson’s hippiness.

Usyk disagrees with you. So do I.

Kabayel is a better fighter in 2025/2026, but wilders status as the final one of the hw kings of the era just gone, that usyk hasn’t fought, still stands.

I don’t think wilder is in a place to challenge usyk without having a couple fights and seeing how he looks then.
I agree that he shouldn’t really get the shot without a 1 or 2 half decent wins, maybe that’s why the Chisora fight is happening to see how he looks.
On a side note, many other fighters (especially recently) seem to be getting shots out of the blue, so if wilder had fought usyk straight away, he wouldn’t be the only one. However he is now fighting Derek so any possibility at claiming wilder is unjustly getting a shot are out of the window, just keep that energy with others, like fury AJ and usyk, who either receive the unjust shot, or provide an unjust shot to someone else.

I saw the title and immediately thought Wilder is sparring with his old foe Dustin Nichols

He said he wanted to take a body. Everytime he loses its someone else's fault. He blamed Breland for losing and accused Breland of poisoning him.

    Hes a piece of ****

"there was no reason to give it to him, Whyte deserved the opportunity more."

Then Whyte should have joined PBC. Matchmaking isn't determined on a purely meritocratic basis, the network you're part of plays a role.

"Wilder would have fought AJ if he accepted one of the many deals he was proposed with."

Finkel wanted 50-50. Wilder had the WBC, the key to undisputed, and Joshua-Wilder was the biggest money fight in boxing at the time. Hearn never offered 50-50, partly because he was risk-averse when it came to the biggest puncher in the sport.

I guess most other boxers are pieces of **** too then. Or is it just if wilder says stuff, changes trainer or makes excuses?!

he only made excuses for his loss to fury, quit lying to justify your hatred

    keep it consistent

They forget it works both ways, they would have fought if AJ accepted wilders deal too…which was meeting AJ demands!

That and Chisora is going to throw home run counter overhand rights. Wilder's team has better be training to avoid those counter rights.

Yep. And seeing that Whyte has been one punch KOed four separate times, makes Whyte a perfect victim for Wilder.

So were they going to fight in Britain? Maybe Wilder's people were concerned about the home cooking,

Pity his team didn't have the balls to take the fight

Wilder was convinced by Rain man and Co to forget about Whyte

For me it was clear that the US / PBC side of things were very wary of possibly allowing another belt in to the hsndsof a Matchroom fighter (Whyte) as Hearn would have made that undisputed fight quick time thus leaving them totally out of the picture

If Hearn was so risk averse why put him in with Dubois who has excellent credentials as a puncher?

Moreover it would have still represented a huge payday even if he received less of the split
