Itauma doesn't defend his body...

I don't know for certain, but I would suspect that few people know who Gassiev is, and despite knocking out Pulev, he looked extremely flat for most of the fight. Commercially, it does not make sense now compared to a Wardley/Dubois winner or even a Hrgovic fight. I could be wrong, but I think that's what their plan is.

 

Well one thing is for certain… Usyk beats the **** out of him and moses has NOT earned that ass whoopin yet

 

I don't know if people would rank Gassiev in the top 10, but maybe he would put up a better fight than a walking corpse and an obese guy suffering from gyno?

Either way, Itauma said he wants Hrgovic.

 

I don't know whether he does. Gassiev was a monster at CW. The only thing that would interest me would be if his power landed on Itauma's chin, but I don't think he is really good enough to get near it. He's a shell at HW compared to what he was at CW, and even at CW he lost every single minute against Usyk. I think Hrgovic is the better fight to be honest.

 

Wardley has said he wants Fury after Dubois. That path is probably not open for him.

Hrgovic? Doesn't get him to a world title.

I mean, maybe it is just making some money, but Gassiev is his quickest path to a world title, because that gets him a fight with Uysk, or, when Usyk retires, he will get elevated into it.

But what about Itauma's body? Gassiev has a monster hook to the body.

 

Hmph. I've also noticed that he hits people with the knuckular portion of his handal appendage with so much excessive force that he's almost certainly going to have injuries from it and lose a fight that way.

 

If Wardley beats Dubois, which I am not 100% sure if he does, then Dubois vs Itauma is a better fight than Hrgovic. I know Hrgovic is fighting Allen in May, so a keep-busy fight for Itauma would make sense. He's still only 21, and activity is important. Get him back out there against someone like Miller.

If the Gassiev fight were made, then I would definitely watch it, and it is a slight step forward in comparison to Franklin, but if Gassiev can look as flat as he did against Wallin and Pulev, and has looked considerably worse at HW, I just don't see how it really sells, especially in the UK where nobody knows who Gassiev is.

 

Yeah people are forgetting the main selling point for Franklin was that he didn't get KO'd by Whyte or AJ. Gassiev doesn't really bring much to the table.

 

Conditions have changed, and it looks like Itauma is getting the WBO shot, so all well and good.

Who do you think is going to win between Wardley and Dubois? The sentence was a bit confusing:

Right now Kabayel is too big a step up. I know Itauma is a mandatory for the WBO title but they need to slow this hype train a bit, he's only 14-0 with 3 years as a pro and let's not forget only 21 years old!

He hasn't even beaten a genuine fringe contender right now. He's never been tested in the ring as a pro, had opponents ask him questions and force him to answer those questions and adapt and to expect him to do that the first time against someone as experienced and proven as Kabayel would be a mistake in my opinion.

Itauma needs a few more fights with incrementally better opponents and if he wins those, then we can talk about him fighting the top guys like Kayabel.

 

Franklin was literally a punching bag in shorts with no defense, he has no boxing skills or power at all, so I'm surprised he even managed to beat Dychko.

 

It's arguable he didn't. I didn't catch it, but people who have seem to think Franklin was gifted a decision in that one.
