Oleksandr Usyk V Ken Norton

Norton did well against boxers, but never fought a southpaw, and I suspect he’d struggle stylistically against southpaws with his square in stance and ducking to his right.

 

Norton’s size and strength could make it rough in spots, but over 12 rounds, Usyk’s consistency probably takes over.

 

Tough fight for both. Flip a coin for mine.

 

I think it will take a full arsenal of punches to get the nod over Usyk. Something like a Holyfield or a Larry Holmes maybe.. or a Tyson? Louis?..he had some bodyshot KO's/assaults.

But bodywork is a must against Usyk. Did Norton have bodywork that he could depend upon?

 

It’s nice matching Usyk with talented, elite guys his actual size. It’s generally more competitive than watching what he a does slapping around the big cardio compromised lummoxes of this era.

Norton close decision. He defeated Ali and came closing to defeating Holmes. These are Top 3 ATG Heavyweights.

 

Idk. Usyk is a master southpaw. And I don’t know how he adjusts to a southpaw the caliber of Usyk. Norton could perhaps figure it out against a Moorer.

 

Split decision, as much as people want to knock Norton against punches, he was elite against boxers. And the only HW who Usyk fought who could put a shift in was Chisora. Norton is levels above

 

I think it’s a tough fight but Usyk too smart and precise for Norton. Not the big puncher that was kryptonite to Norton just too skilled for a guy who is just as big and strong as him.
Hard fought but clear decision for Usyk.

 

Usyk would pick Norton apart. Wasn’t a big puncher which was Nortons kryptonite but smarter more skilled and just as big and strong. The 220+ prime Usyk has a little more pop than the 70s Ali and the still improving 209 lbs Holmes. He could stun Norton with his precise punches.

 

That was Usyk's 2nd fight at HW. He's gained almost 10lbs of muscle since then. He now weighs as much as Foreman did when he KO'd Norton. Usyk uses his boxing skills to land a nice combo on Norton and get him out of there.
