Its been stated to me that Hatton has had a better resume at 140 than Cotto has.Upon reviewing and comparing the two and their opponents @ 140 its clear to me that Cotto has.Maybe im missing something here or overlooking something ......i dunno i need to find out what the masses think.
(i would've done a poll but i dont know how)

Cotto probably beat more solid level opponents, but Hatton reached the top of 140 by beating the king of the division in Kostya Tszyu.

If Hatton loses to Maligfaggi than certainly Cotto's resume at 140 would be better cause he never lost at 140 and he beat "The Magicman". Cotto definitely has the better resume at 147 though. As it stands right now, I still rate Cotto's title reign as a junior welterweight titlest above Hatton's because other than Tzyu, who has Hatton really beaten of note? Old ass Lazcano who was coming up in weight? Urango? Cotto beat Torres (who was undefeated and went on to win a belt), Malignaggi (who was undefeated and went on to win a belt), Corley, Carlos Massau (went on to win a belt), Pinto (who was undefeated).

Cotto accomplished more in beating the actual Champion at 140 but its often over rated, Kostya wasnt in his prime had a long layoff and no this isnt Rickys fault its just some facts that are simply over looked.

Cotto fought younger challengers there that were a bigger threat to him IMO Paulie who I think will school Hatton, he fought Torres who can ****in beat anybody at that weight on any given night, he also fought and beat Chop Chop and a few others that just aint clicking in my brain right now.

Ricky has the advantage in terms of who he beat but that was just one fight really.

of the top of my head hatton has beaten tzsyu, castillo, maussa , ben tackie, vince phillips, urango who will surprise a few people, oliveira was pretty solid. and he should beat malignaggi.

It's funny how everyone is now speaking of Pauli like he is some sort of boxing god. It's simply because Pauli is perhaps one of cottos best wins at 140. He is widely regarded as not being particularly good.

Hatton has been a champion at 140 for three plus years - cotto has never been a champion there.

Hatton has beaten a higher level of opponent at 140 then Cotto ever has.

Hatton has unified at the weight, Cotto only ever held WBO title - that is all.

Hatton has won more fights at the weight then Cotto.
