Joel Julio's management team is very dumb for accepting a fight with Sergiy Dzinziruk

Not only is the fight taking place in Germany so Dzinziruk has the hometown edge, but Dzinziruk is a technically solid southpaw who has some excellent boxing skills. Last time Julio faced someone of that caliber, he got completely embarrassed by Carlos Quintana. Man, what was his management thinking?

    It's now or never, basically.

I don't see him beating Dzinziruk but stranger things have happened. Dzyna didn't look too great in his last fight. He may be slipping.

I agree it's a bad matchup stylistically but what's worse is the location Germany he has no chance in hell of getting a decision there.

Its not that bad. If he losses, blame it on Germany corruption. Its not like anyone in the US will even watch the fight. He can comeback to fighting on ESPN. If he does win, he beats a top rated guy with a belt and can get himself an HBO or Showtime date. Julio has nothing to lose here.

Well if you havent seen lat couple of fights from Dzindziruk, he was worse and worse with every fight. He's been awful in his last fight. He is getting old and slow. I think Julio will knock him out.

This is a title shot for him and the only one in the horizon. It is a risky decision but like someone else said..better now than never. Julio has improved since his loss against Quintana and he will come to fight. The location sucks but the fight will be good. You can say he had his practice when he fought Ishe and beat him.

Yeah, but he could have taken a much easier route, fighting Sergio Martinez for the mandatory position for Mora's belt. Dzinziruk is a horrible style matchup for Julio, and I suspect he'll get spanked.

He turned down a mandatory eliminator to take this fight, so that's not true.

completly embarrassed? it wasnt that bad, **** julio knocked him down even. Embarassed is lacy vs calzaghe. julio can win a rematch with quintana if they fought again I believe, he was rushed to that fight too early in his career.

I think Julio will win this, but still be a lower champ.

His management must know something we don't: either something that suggest Joel will win, or something that would suggest this short term investment is worthwhile.

I also think the heat affected Julio in that fight. Don't forget it was outdoors at Caesar's in 115 degree heat. Props to Quintana for not letting the heat get to him, but Julio wasn't at 100%.
