Another good video. Sloppy but fun fight. I think getting a hard fight win will do good for Wilder's confidence. Yeah he's past his best but if he wants to fight on, learning that he can dig deep and go the distance does better for him then had he just got bailed out with a power punch.
Great video, and you called it right, sir! I was one of Wilder's biggest critics on here over the years, starting after the McCreary fight, and really ramping up when he chose Molina is first defense. But I give him a LOT of credit for last night, never mind the sloppiness or the age of the fighters. 1) Beat a genuine rival of sorts. Over the yeas, lot of people have compared Wilder's successful but manufactured title reign to Chisora's strategy of fighting anyone with mixed results. A lot of fans thought Chisora has the better career, despite Wilder's ten defenses. Beating Chisora legitimately answered some questions, even if both are over 40. 2) Added one of the best names to his resume. And never mind the age, and they are both past their best. Until now, Stivene and Ortiz are the names fans have cited...neither have the immediate cache of Derrick Chisora. 3) Outgutted a tough opponent over 12. He's never really done that before. When he beat Stiverne over 12, it was his best display of boxing. 4) Gave himself a last chance. Who who next? Joshua? Usyk? Ruiz? Let's see.
Well done @Rumsfeld but I want a video on the REAL controversy here that you seem to have ignored … How can Chisora be awarded the 5 Guys Hamburgerweight Championship belt given that Wilder won? This corruption needs to be exposed. Should Derek give up the belt entirely and have it awarded to Deontay out off a sense of fair sportsmanship? Maybe make Chisora the 5 Guys Regular champ and award Deontay the Super Belt? And if we are going to recognize this fraudulent claim … what if Derek really does retire? Does Wilder automatically become Lineal Champ of Burgers or does he have to fight for the vacant yet again? We need answers Mr Rummy, and you are just the guy to tackle this sensitive topic!!!
