The left hook Morrison hit Ruddock was lethal that would've knocked out 99.999% of all humans cold, utter BS Ruddock got up, with a different ref he could've made it to the bell

 

Bob Satterfield's kno kdown of Rex Layne was numbing, but Rex got up to win

Earnie Shavers knockdown of Bernardo Mercado was something because Earnue looked like he put everything into it. And again, Mercado got up to win

Joe Frazier's 2nd KD of Jimmy Ellis in their first fight. Amazing Jimmy got up, but Dundee wisely stopped it between rounds

 

I really miss the old Friday Night fights and that was one of the best ones. It's a shame that both Gonzalez and Letterlough died young. At least guys like us are still around and remember.

 

Fury getting up against Wilder was utterly obscene. It's probably the most dramatic for me.

Holmes and Tillis getting up against Shavers were unreal as well.

 

The late Antwan Echols absorbed about as much punishment as I have ever seen on a guy in round two against Charles Brewer. He somehow came back and stopped Brewer in the next round. Yet another Friday Night Fights classic. RIP Antwan.

I agree with you though. Ruddock seemed to be calmly riding that out IIRC, and looked well on his way to weathering that. If that fight continued, I'd imagine that a totally exhausted Morrison getting chinned was a definite possibility.

To be fair to Lipton though, I don't remember much controversy at all regarding that stoppage. Would be interesting to see a poll on whether that should have been stopped or not...

Shane Mosley's KD of Shannon Taylor was pretty spectacular IMO. Not sure Taylor knew what hemisphere he was in when he got up, but he showed a lot of heart here and hung around for a few rounds.

Foreman getting up from the second Lyle knockdown was special. When someone faceplants on the canvas like that it’s generally good night. The fact he went on and stopped Lyle in the next round is pretty impressive to most (there’ll be a couple who predictably would find fault with it of course).

 

I agree about Fury in 1st fight which seemed like he was out. To come up with my own I ll go Moore 4 times vs Durelle comes back and stops him.

 

It was Morrison's hometown and I think Tommy would have collapsed in another 15 seconds. That was a cheap stoppage.

 

Your right. Ellis getting up from that was surprising.

Taylor looked to be knocked unconscious but recuperated very quickly to beat the count and went on to outbox Ruelas for a decision win

 

Another not yet mentioned is Monzon getting beat to the punch with a big right hand in his last bout. He somehow got up and no problems with his legs. Incredible. And he was what....37? In his final fight? And had 100 bouts? How many guys are going to get up > beat to the punch by a Rodrigo Valdez right hand like that one?
