Fury is overrated, inconsistent and undisciplined. Makhmudov is a big heavy hitting guy with solid athleticism and skills for his size.

This is actually a pretty risky fight for Fury to take at this stage. Theres a decent possibility of him getting banana skinned and I sure ****ing hope thats what happens.

He lost a tight one against a gatekeeper in Hrgovic, who is durable but crap on cards. Call it competitive, even disputed, but that's the fact of the matter.

Parker won, there's no controversy there - Zhang nearly got the job done, but he didn't stop Parker and he lost.

You're welcome to an opinion, but he didn't - and I don't think there's really much of an argument for him winning that.

This is true, he's pretty durable.

The only one to KO him, yes.
Convincingly is a matter of opinion.

Mmm... Some certainly - but with the caveat that his resume isn't very deep, he needs to prove more.

I would think so - Usyk's proved far more and not shown as much sign of decline as you might expect at his age with as many fights as he's had... It can be hard to tell.

    My prediction (and hope)

Big Mak lands a bomb, Fury goes down and gets up on wobbly legs and Mak rushes in and finishes him off whilst doing a neck twitch

We have seen time and time again that basing fights by this metric is flawed at best.

Yes, Kabayel’s resume isn’t deep, but every time he’s been given an opportunity, where he was also the underdog, against Zhang, Sanchez, and Makhmudov, he’s won and delivered A+ performances. And while I respect anyone who believes Parker won the Zhang fight, I would also invite them to watch this video:

I remember watching Kabayel VS Makhmudov and the result registering as a shock to many. Makhmudov was supposed to eat him for dinner. It's the first time I'd watched him.

When Sanchez came around it seemed to me like fans and experts had collective amnesia. I didn't. I put a decent chunk of money on Kabayel.

I had a hunch that Kabayel may beat Mak, but saw it as 50/50, which was better than people that didn't give him any chances. I put some money on Agit in the Sanchez fight after that too!

Makhmudov has everything to win and nothing to lose.

If it gets up tight and personal, Fury will have minimal height and weight advantage to bear down on Makhmudov, so that tool in Furys kit is gone.

Surprise us all Arslanbek, keep swinging and hit any legal part of Fury as no doubt he will be trying to be fleet of foot, punches from a 260 pound boxer will have a accumulated effect wherever they land.

Whether Makhmudov is a world beater is open to question, but perhaps he might have the beating of Fury, we shall see.

I will be honest i would not be disappointed if Makhmudov did prevail, though the odds are against him

There wasn't any size or style explanation for why parker outboxed. parker outboxed him because hes better. Not because he had anything particular dangerous about him that clashed in their styles.

Do people really buy into this nonsense? Boxing does this with every prospect level dude coming up through the ranks. Feed a guy who has the size/look of a good HW a bunch of cab drivers until he has a decent looking record. Somewhere in the teens like 13 or 14-0. Then talk him up like he's a killer. You know, the ol' Joe Rogan trying to convince people Ronda Rousey could out-box Floyd Mayweather shtick. Now a bunch of people think he's actually impressive for some reason when in reality he's JAG.

Seen it a zillion times before. I never trust a dude until I've seen him beat some legit competition. And I never rate wins over these padded prospects. Like Otto Wallin was supposed to be a name. Why? Oh, because he went 12 rounds with Fury! Or Dempsey McKean. What a great win for Itauma! Why? Because it took lazy and unmotivated Hrgovic 12 rounds to KO him! Hrgovic being another guy in that same vein. Never beat anybody outside of getting a robbery decision versus Zhang, then was hailed as the boogeyman of the division no one wanted to fight. By who you ask? Well, his promoter Eddie Hearn, of course!

Mak was picked because he's terrible but looks the part. Fury will have had to have fallen completely off the cliff to not run circles around this guy.

Yeah this is just positioned as a calculated 'tune up'.

But Kebabyal is even more protected than AJ. And that's saying something.
He's avoided tough fights for years because he's not that good.
When Fury went to make that fight years ago people dismissed it as a waste of time. Then suddenly Kebabyal became a great fighter for no apparent reason.
He needs to actually fight someone like Dubious or Croat or AJ or even Parker to get a reference point.
If he can dispatch any of those then he would earn some of the hype perhaps.

He wouldn't have anything for a prime Fury, too slow and not a KO artist.
There are only two known ways to beat Fury, and we've seen this.
    1. Bomb him out as a puncher (with fast hands). Wilder almost did it.
    2. Be a smaller, faster fighter with very good boxing skills. Usyk did it. Cunningham was doing well for a handful or rounds but his boxing wasn't good enough to overcome.

Fury is old now and slower so anything can happen. But being some 'all rounder' HW fighter is not going to beat prime Fury. You'd have to be exceptional in various departments.

And Chisora Mark III beat Wallin, so we can add Wallin to that list, then.

Kingpin Johnson beat Pianeta, so if we are mentioning him we should mention the Kingpin.

    And Hammer,
